How can I use the new Skins?

New skins can be used in a variety of ways by game mode or by context. The game's original skins are now shown as "Classic Skin" while new skins be selected from any of the "Fauna Selector" species menus.

Lifecycles

As Praying Mantis or Ladybug, Choose your Skin before starting a new Lifecycles journey! Watch the Praying Mantis grow into its new skin (quite literally!) while in the case of the Ladybug, don your new skin after completing your full metamorphosis.

For AI Creatures

The game automatically applies random skins to all AI using all the Skins that you have purchased and unlocked. This automatically provides a new, fresh and visually interesting experience for all your favorite DoN experiences!

Face Off

Choose a unique skin for both Player 1 and Player 2! Create humorous and visually interesting match ups with the new Predator Skins which are particulary well-suited for Face Off mode! For Survival / Free Exploration: Simply choose your skin prior to starting your game. Unlike Lifecycles, you get to jump right into your new skin immediately, as an adult.

Sandbox mode

AI choose a random skin automatically from all available skins. In the next update you will also be able to manually specify which Skin to use for a Fauna creature while spawning it!

Gender Selection exposed to Random Maps!

Custom Maps now allow you to specify the gender of each Fauna grouping! To check it out, edit any of the preexisting map presets (by clicking on the pencil icon next to a preset name) or create a new one of your own using the "Ecology Editor" option!
