Narco Check changes
Greetings, Border Officers!
We've been working hard to turn Narco Check into a living, breathing world where your daily choices actually echo into the next day. This month, we focused entirely on expanding your station bringing you new areas to explore, new faces to read, and much higher stakes to juggle.
Here is a quick, clean breakdown of what you'll be dealing with in Devlog 4: Steam post image
🛩️ Stepping Away From the Desk: Aircraft & Cargo
You're not just staring at passports anymore. Planes will now land right on your runway, forcing you to step out, review manifests, and search cargo crates yourself. Steam post image
Trust your eyes: We added a Blue Light (UV) mechanic. Hidden contraband markings won't just pop up with a generic warning; you’ll have to spot the anomalies yourself. Steam post image
Choose wisely: Tools like your crowbar and axe now have very specific purposes, so grabbing the right gear is part of the challenge.
Steam post image 📋 Your New Routine: Briefings & The Intel Board
Every shift now kicks off with a quick morning briefing packed with DINA requests, intel notes, or specific warnings. Keep in mind, these official orders might directly clash with what other factions want you to do.
No hand-holding: Your office Intel Board will display sketches and descriptions of wanted suspects. Don't expect glowing icons over their heads in line connecting the dots between the paperwork and the passenger is entirely on you.
👥 Deeper NPC Roles & Physical Clues
The people waiting in your queue aren't just random faces; they could be cartel members, VIPs, or government informants, and how you handle them carries long-term consequences.
Deeps in the details: Keep an eye out for Secret Notes left on your desk by messengers. Decoding these clues is how you'll naturally progress the story during your shift.
Familiar faces: We've locked in The Dealer as your permanent, familiar contact for the cartel, while Messengers will blend into the crowd to slide you information.
⚖️ The Ultimate Choice: DINA vs. The Cartel
At its core, Narco Check is all about pressure. DINA demands absolute authority, while the Cartel offers a dangerous, complicated path. Every time you choose to report info or stay silent, you are actively shaping your allegiance. With DINA faxes piling up and officers closing in, we've designed the system so you can feel the walls narrowing around you rather than just facing a boring "Game Over" screen.
What’s Next?
Right now, we are busy balancing the gameplay, adding sound design, and polishing the overall atmosphere to make the station feel as tense as possible.
As you step behind the desk for your next shift, we want you to constantly ask yourself: What is the right thing to do? What is the safe thing to do? And who am I really serving?
