In Shaola, the vast majority of non-humans have been wiped out by Men's kingdoms and the Human Supremacy Alliance. The only surviving main races are Dwarves, Elves, and Orcs.

Dwarves have limited height. However, they are equipped with great strength, endurance, and wisdom. They dwell in the mountains and are skilled at smithing and mining.

Dwarves tend to be miners. They have a natural fascination with minerals and feel more comfortable underground. They are much shorter and stockier than Men, Elves, and Orcs. They can withstand both heat and cold and have longer lifespans than the average human.

Dwarves are great metalworkers and fierce in battle. Their primary weapons are axes and hammers, and many great axemen can be counted among this race. Dwarves live anywhere that has mountains, mines, and minerals.

Dwarves don’t need as much sleep as humans do. They are diligent and hardworking and work in the mines both day and night. All they need is a few hours of rest. Consequently, sleep-inducing magic and effects do not affect Dwarves.

While Men and Elves are allies and have fought countless wars against Orcs, Dwarves have mostly stayed neutral. They trade quality weapons and armor to Men and Elves for high prices and participate in warfare only when they have to.

Dwarves’ ultimate goal is to find their traditional friend, the Snow Palace, sometimes called the Invisible Palace, a hidden and mysterious place that no one has discovered. According to ancient tomes, the Snow Palace was the Dwarves' most trustworthy and closest ally thousands of years ago.

Dwarves speak Kudorul. Approximately 3% of the population still speaks Old Kudorul, an ancient tongue from millions of years ago.

Old Kudorul

Kudorul (Common Tongue: "Catch me if you can.")
