What’s up, my fellow Gorge Goblins?

I’ve updated the demo for the upcoming Next Fest with some pretty awesome additions.

Demo

  • Facial expressions: Bumping your head is a lot more fun now

  • More narration: Especially more “encouraging” when you fail… let’s call it motivation

  • 20 different fart soundsFor your enjoyment. I even added one real recording. Sorry for making this weird
  • 7 new absurd collectibles: Well hidden or hard to reach, to give a better sense of the full game’s challenge

  • Level design improvements: Some areas were too easy, even for the demo

  • Visual overhaul: The protagonist fits better into the environment while still keeping that intentional style mismatch. Also, the post-processing looks sweeeet, if I may say so

  • Performance improvements: Yay, finally playable on your fridge

  • Demo Steam page: I decided to create a separate Steam page for the demo, so everyone can publicly share their high praise for this life-changing experience :)

Are you into bullet points? Then you are in the right place! Check out the roadmap for the full game.

Roadmap

Ascension System (NG+)

  • 10 Ascension Levels, each unlocked by completing the previous difficulty

  • The game begins accessible, with fewer hazards and a limited key set (ASDFJKL;). Perfect for learning blind typing.

  • Ascensions increase: Level complexity, Checkpoint scarcity, Required keys, Overall difficulty

  • The final Ascension is designed to be extremely challenging, targeting ~1% completion rate

Level Design

  • Larger, more interconnected level

  • Additional optional high-difficulty challenge areas

  • Greater emphasis on exploration and risk/reward routes

Accessories

  • Items provide different gorge stats (some even negative), rewarding harder routes

  • New gameplay bonuses on certain items (e.g. increased “farting” force, reduced delay, etc.)

  • Collecting full item sets unlocks secret areas

Keyboard Support Improvements

  • Improved support for keyboards with limited key rollover

  • The current fallback movement system (triggered by the “hold 8 keys” test at startup) will be refined to better match the intended gameplay experience

Other

  • Steam achievements

  • Steam Cloud Saves

  • Support for additional languages

  • General polishing and improvements

  • Alternative ending(s)

  • Added narration, humor, and more immersive elements

  • More surprises to come
