My Card Is Better Than Your Card! changes
Howdy! ːmyfrogː
We hope you’ve been enjoying the Coconuts & Bolts content update! We’ve already started to work on the next update, where we’re going to make some big changes to game balance!
Playtests! Help us make the game better
We will be running an extended playtest for all these changes! It will be your best chance to give your feedback and help us steer the balance in the right direction. To take part, join our Discord here. The playtest is planned to start on May 22, 2026.
Getting the right stickers as rewards
One of the most frequent feedback we see is that the stickers are too random. There is a system currently in the game that tweaks the drop chances of the stickers you get based on what you already have in your deck and in your sticker book. This effect is the strongest on Relaxed difficulty, and weaker on Hard difficulty.
We are reworking this system entirely. The end goal is to make it so that the rewards and shops will offer stickers which work better with your existing deck much more often. It will also help us with our ever-growing catalogue of stickers in the game, since we'll be able to tweak the drop chances of stickers in much more detail!
It’ll be easier and more enjoyable to build a deck with a specific theme – or two!
New stickers! Many hybrids, so many hybrids
Making decks which utilize synergies between multiple sticker themes is a request we see quite often! And something we really enjoy too. So, we will be adding quite a few new hybrid stickers to the game! There will be many more synergies you can find in the game between sticker themes, which will let you build fun decks by combining different types of stickers.
Rebalancing the kids, looking at you Leonardo…
There are some opponents you can run into during your runs that are a bit more difficult than others. Of course, there is a lot of variety in what feels difficult due to the strengths and weaknesses of different decks. Still, there are some outliers in the opponents in terms of difficulty, which we will try to reign in by tweaking their difficulty in the right direction.
Leonardo will be getting some difficulty adjustments too, since the current card battle has a bit too big of a difficulty jump, especially on Normal. We want to have challenging content in the game for our players who are more experienced with deckbuilders, so the final boss was the natural place for the hardest content in the game.
Now that we have challenge bosses in the game, we can tune Leonardo’s difficulty down a bit without having to worry about our players who enjoy taking on challenging content losing the chance to do so.
Flea Market & Card Trade events
Flea Market has been quite a weak event, since the cost of adding a card to your deck is quite high, making it hard to justify picking one of the cards from the event. We will be testing changes to the Flea Market. The first iteration will have the cards in the event matching your deck’s three main sticker themes.
We will be also testing changes to the Card Trade event. Currently, there are some guaranteed trades you can make by offering cards of a certain cost for trade. We will be testing a way to get new sticker themes to your deck from this event: each card you can choose from the trade will have just one sticker theme. A random sticker theme will be picked for each card.
We have even more ideas for these events we might want to test as we look for the final design. So, we're eager to see the feedback from the playtests!
And more!
The update will also have some secret new features too, and we will share details on those later since they are not quite done yet.
Be sure to join our playtests if these changes sound like something you would like to get to play with and voice your opinions on! Join our Discord now so you don’t miss it!
