Sinburn’s Dev Blog - It’s so big!

Hello all!

I’m really slipping on these blogs.

Dev stuff.

Well, the simple reason for that is I’m working hard.

It’s quite a lot of pressure to keep producing the story because as soon as I get delayed everyone else starts to catch up.

I’ve been working mostly on Episode 10. I imply it’s big up in the title but it’s not actually that big… It's average. To me it feels big. There is a lot going on. Lots of options of what Randal chooses to do. The complexity has made it harder than usual to write but I think it’s looking pretty solid.

It was also big from an emotional point of view. Adding in heavier moments always feels a little intimidating in a game that is made for pleasure, but without the texture of ups and downs, the story would feel too one note and we need motivation for our protagonist to react to.

We accidentally added another girl…

I’m keeping her involvement small so she doesn’t clog up the story. I’m also not making it obvious where to find her. She’s kind of like an easter egg but a very poorly hidden one. She has a connection to the plot and even if you don’t meet her on your playthrough of the episode, you’ll meet her in the future and that could be a somewhat awkward meeting depending on your choices.

I can take a moment to catch my breath over the weekend and then back to it. I need to race ahead of everyone so I can not worry about holding things up. Thankfully, actually doing the writing is the best bit of the job.
