Patch 1.6

Good news, we've got the rights to Motorsport Manager back from Sega!

So the first thing we wanted to fix is that black screen on booting the game.

For this patch we’ve had to change the version of Unity we are using, to 5.5.6f1, and we are aware this could potentially break some mods. As such we’re initially releasing the patch as a beta to allow time for mods to support it.

This initial release is Windows only, Mac and Linux versions will follow shortly.

If you find any issues with this new patch please let us know.

Updates:

• Fixed black screen on boot

• Fixed incorrect driver positions on minimap

• UI fixes in various menus

• Updated legal text & privacy policy

How to Opt Into the Beta:

• Right click on Motorsport Manager in your Steam Library and select Properties.

• In the Properties Menu select the Game Versions & Betas tab on the left.

• Enter twentytwentysix into the Private Versions text field and click Check Code.

• You should now have access to the 2026_update branch, you can use the Game Versions & Beta tab to switch back to the store version when we release it to everyone.

Update 23rd Feb:

The Linux version is now live in the 2026_Update branch. As before let us know if there are issues with this version.

There is currently no new Mac version. Last year Apple removed support for 32 bit apps, MM was built targeting the 32 bit version of OSX.

Many of the third party libraries and tools we used to build the game are no longer supported, so there's no 64 bit version of them. To create a 64 bit version we'd need to replace these libraries and upgrade the version of Unity we're using. Both of these changes can create a lot of work and have unintended knock-ons to how the game functions and plays.

That said, we’re continuing to explore how feasible an upgrade would be and will keep you posted as we learn more.
