Mostroscopy changes
Saturnina, the personification of death, has joined the roster of playable characters in Mostroscopy.
She's not happy that so many supernatural and immortal beings are roaming around without respecting the natural order of things... and besides, it prevents her from seeing the absolute truth beyond the end of the universe, so she's decided to take matters into her own hands.
At the start of a fight, she appears as this mysterious character... does anyone recognize him?
Saturnina's movements are based on the Dia de los Muertos festivities, so you'll see her use papel picado, sugar skulls, invoke altars for the dead, and cempasúchil flowers.
Sugar Ray!
In fact, her ability to summon altars for the dead changes the properties of her attacks, making her the character with the most unique fighting style in the cast.
Her stage is called "Dead Gods" and is based on a famous Mexican film that is very popular these days and is based on a story by the Brothers Grimm.
Also, Saturnina's theme song is an original composition and arrangement by DJ INSANO called Tehuana, since Saturnina embodies the aesthetic of a Tehuana, a traditional dress from the Isthmus (the narrowest part of Mexico, connecting the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean) that spans the states of Veracruz and Oaxaca. It is an electronic waltz with characteristics of Oaxacan regional bands. Listen here!
I hope you enjoy Saturnina as you've enjoyed Mostroscopy today on it's 2nd anniversary!!
Happy Halloween! Happy Day of the Dead! And Viva Mexico!!
