MOONSHIRE changes
It's been awhile since the last Steam update! The game is coming along nicely, and after many major updates, I felt like it earned a version bump to 0.3.0! This update has a major focus on overall presentation (graphics and visual improvements), level layouts, resource collection, and tutorials. Here's a full list of everything that's changed since last time:
Complete world layout overhaul! The game is more linear to start off, providing much better tutorials for dodging and healing. The town and surrounding areas have all been redone. The cave is now located after the tutorials are finished, connecting the town to the ruins. The flower worm boss is now treated as a 'final boss' for the demo, requiring all other content to be completed before you can fight it. Overall, the overall progression of the game makes a lot more sense!
No more boring coins… instead, you'll find resources all around the game! These are meant to be quick and easy to pick up - seeds fall from trees, exploding rocks reveal some ore, chests contain gold, and water sources have plenty of fish! Each of these resources have their own function, and each spawn point operates on a 10 minute timer, meaning it's always beneficial to go back through previously visited areas.
The newly designed cave now features an updated entry into the fight with Eyeris, as well as some improvements to the fight itself. After the fight, you'll be introduced to a few new mechanics involving the seeds, as well as the first climbable wall.
There are now a bunch of interactable props, including boxes, pots, shelves, logs, and barrels, which burst apart when you hit them with an attack!
Ambience (environmental) sounds, like wind and rain, are now added to the overall mix and can be adjusted in the settings menu.
More movement in the environment, especially the animated trees!
The torch has been reworked to longer use ammo. Instead, it visually indicates when it's able to shoot fire, which reforms after a cooldown.
Several new NPCs, and TONS of bugfixes!
