Moonring changes
Witness the awesome majesty of the *slightly* 3D world (an actual screenshot) and the equally awesome new logo I definitely didn't knock together in 5 minutes (thankfully, not a screenshot)!
Features:
A shift to HD2D perspective and effects, but the same super-simple graphic style
A heavy emphasis on easy moddability - hence sticking to a variant of the previous style
A new world, new gods, new cultures and a lot more weirdness quack
An actual price, though nothing abusive, I promise
No, Moonring 1 wasn't a marketing exercise. Nobody conducts a 6 year marketing exercise.
That second item is important. I would love the world to be able to make their own worlds, quests, dungeons and stories within this peculiar vibe, in the same way as Mork Borg has inspired a huge amount of punky offshoots.
But! There's a big question remaining, like a huge naked butt hanging out of a student's car window as they drive by.
As someone who listens to his players, would you prefer Moonring 2 to be: 1) a bigger, deeper, fixed, hand-crafted world with finite playtime? 2) a more Roguelike experience, where each death reorganises the layout of the overworld? 3) a hybrid, similar to Remnant from the Ashes 2?
The lore and history aspects of the game will still be there, of course. I have no intention to turn the sequel into meaningless procedural slush, but I do feel there's a potential for a happy medium. My current plan is 3, but I'd love to hear from you whether that causes projectile vomiting, hysterical laughter, or eye-rolling indifference.
