Moon Reader changes
A Demo is in the Works, and Thank You for the Wishlists!
It’s been about three weeks since I officially announced Moon Reader, and I want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone who has added the game to their wishlist. Seeing that support means the world to me as a solo developer and genuinely helps to keep the development going forward.
To give you a better feel for how the narrative, decision-making and general mechanics work, I’m currently putting together a playable demo.
What you can experience in this demo:
Since I want to keep the main story for the final game, I decided to build a standalone/oneshot storyline.
One-Shot: The demo will feature a self-contained story set in a spin-off inside the game. You won't run into any big main-game spoilers here. While the story is a standalone, you’ll still meet with several characters who appear in the full game.
Gameplay: You will play through 14 in-game days, in which your decisions will trigger different endings (about 4 main endings, and bunch of smaller variations).
Objective: Your goal during these two weeks is to save your cat Luna from a sudden, life-threatening disease.
Heads-up:
This is a work-in-progress. It will still take about 1–2 months to complete, especially since working on the game is sadly not currently my main occupation.
Its main purpose is to let you test the core narrative mechanics, see how your choices branch the storyline and have a clearer idea of the game itself.
I’ll share a release date for the demo as soon as I have a better idea of it. Thank you again for all the wishlists and encouragement. If you want to follow along with the development- DON'T FORGET TO WISHLISTS!
