Happy New Year!!
We hope you’re starting 2026 feeling refreshed and excited! Before jumping ahead, we’d like to take a moment to look back and say thank you.
Demo 0.2.1 Update
Recently, we’ve just released demo 0.2.1, which includes bug fixes, minor balancing, and localization improvements. Check out the full patch notes here if you haven’t seen it yet. Hopefully, this update makes playing the game even more fun for you guys!
Looking Back at 2025
2025 was a big year for us. Back in April, Montabi was officially announced with Akupara Games as our publisher. The first demo went live in June, followed by a demo update in November. Along the way, we joined various events and held community playtests that gave us helpful insights and experience. None of this would’ve been possible without all your support, thank you so much!
We’d also like to give a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to content creators and everyone who found Montabi through their content. It means a lot for us to see everyone showing interest in our game and supporting us through multiple platforms or events like SEAGO. It’s also such an honor to be played by Retromation, an awesome roguelike content creator we’ve been following.
Watching players dive into the demo, share their thoughts, and help shape the game reminded us why we’re making Montabi in the first place. We’re really grateful for everyone in this wonderful journey!
What We’ve been Working on
Throughout the end of year, we’re focusing on the full game content. We’ve started doing more playtests for the full game, which helped us identify areas that need improvement for the full version.

What’s Next
With the new year ahead, we’re channeling all our energy to complete the game. Here’s what we’ll be focusing on next:

Lots of playtest, fine tuning, and balancing (we need you!)
Now that we’re getting closer to completing all unit designs, we’re preparing to run another community playtest soon. As the game gets closer to launch, we’ll be running even more frequent playtests, so we need all your help to build a fun game together.
