Montabi changes
Hi Tamers and Montabi friends,
I hope you’re all happy and having fun! It’s wild to think the year is almost over. We’ve done so much together this year, and there are still so many exciting things ahead.
Demo 0.2 Release!
Have you tried Montabi new demo yet? We just released Demo 0.2 a few days ago and we’re still so hyped about it! This version is a big step up from the previous demo, with new cards, enemies, languages, and many more improvements.
If you missed it by any chance, you can try the new demo here:
We’d love to hear what you think about the update! Feel free to share your thoughts through a review, our feedback form, or discussion in our Discord. We’ll be gathering your feedback to make priority adjustments to the demo and improve the full game. We’ll be back soon with demo 0.2.1 with some fixes and localization improvements.
We also reached out to fellow roguelike deckbuilder developers to get more feedback. Big thanks to the devs behind Moonsigil Atlas, who give us valuable insights. If you’re into deckbuilding, definitely check out it out because it’s so good!
What’s Next:
December will be an important month for us as we push beyond the demo and step into the next stage of Montabi’s development. Our goal is to finish most of the planned content for the full game by the end of the year. Here’s what we’ll be working on:
Full implementation of 13 Montabi evolution lines
Pylo, Cone Montabi
Vem, Vending Machine Montabi
Kaibug, Beast Bug Montabi (swipe for good vibes)
T-1LO, Traffic Light Montabi
Cressie, Croissant Bee Montabi
Blizblaze, Lighter Fire Montabi
Yi Pao, Panda Montabi
Kyuchi, Samurai Dog Montabi
Karabi, Spicy Ramen Montabi
Flamble, Firewood Montabi
Tygo, Boxing Tiger Montabi
Chottle, Turtle Tree Montabi
Cacto, Cactus Knight Montabi
Revamp several implementations for smoother development
Refactor room battle system
Adjust enemy attack priority
Fix UX sorting order in draw pile, discard pile, and exhaust pile
Difficulty system and ascension
Now that demo 0.2 is out and we’re back to working on the full game development, we might conduct another community playtest soon. It’s been a while, right? The last one was in August!
If you want to try new content early and help us shape the game, join our Discord so you won’t miss the playtest announcement.
Thank you so much for all your support, and see you next time!
