March Dev Update

Good day passengers welcome on board the Monorail. Beginning with March, we will be releasing monthly updates related to our game, providing you with a look behind the scenes of making an indie game, lore that will help jump right into the game on release, and various additional goodies, starting with a 4K render of the beautiful Mountain Cities of L and M.

Those familiar with the demo will recognize it as the background for the main menu.

The setting of Monorail Stories is a world different from our own, divided not into countries, but independent city-states, much like in the Middle Ages. Each city is a democratic state, with the governing City Hall administration elected by the city's inhabitants. Every citizen is enfranchised, and this empowerment helped each city develop its own unique society, economy, culture, and a mean independent streak.

L and M, the two city-stars of Monorail Stories, share common roots going back five hundred years. These close ties and their proximity led to strife and conflict between the cities and their citizens for a long long time. Until the advent of the Monorail.

You see, the Monorail isn't simply a sophisticated method of transporting people between the cities. It is a symbol of unity and cooperation against all odds, literally bridging the gap between the Cities of L and M. It is unique across the world, with neither other Mountain Cities nor the Continental States having anything like it.

Like any symbol of unity and concord, it was controversial on the day of its inauguration. In fact, it still is in some circles, as some scars do not heal and certain injuries are impossible to forget...
