Hi, dungeon-crawling fans!
Just a quick update: I am currently wrapping up my work on Beta 3.
I switched out another section of the map, but I will try to get it all done during next week.
The patch will then be pushed to the test branch first. To access the test branch, pick the corresponding beta selection in your game's Steam properties (right-click on your library entry).
As mentioned in the last news update, the new patch will contain various new areas. I would say out of all the areas in the game so far, these probably offer the most variety. There will be a few interesting surprises for you to find, both lore and gameplay-wise.
Beta 3 will be the biggest update so far, with one major and three minor areas. Besides that content, there will also be female NPCs.
Since I finally had time to write again, I added books as an alternative document type to the game. I will add more lore via these books, starting with this patch.
I have also considered recording some of the texts and uploading them to YouTube so you have an easy way to get into Monomyth's lore. I would do that voice modded, of course, so you don't have to suffer through my accent (as much). Just tell me if you're interested in that.
And since I was already adding lore to the game, I added a cutscene that explains why the player keeps respawning.
Besides these aesthetic changes, I also made some changes to gameplay options. You can now activate numeric UI elements and turn off gore effects.
That's all for the moment. I will keep you posted!
Best wishes,
Michael
