Modern Warships changes
Modern Warships on Steam
π¦ What is Modern Warships?
Modern Warships is a cross-platform arcade online action game where modern naval battles look like they do in reality. Surveillance aircraft rush forward to detect the enemy from distance. Cruisers launch volleys of guided missiles and try to reset enemy missile defences. Submarines sneak up to surface vessels and jet fighters provide cover to the allied fleet from the air.
π¦ When will the game be released on Steam?
We are pushing our best to have it in your hands by 2025
π¦ What platforms and control devices will it support?
We aim to support PC & Steam Deck on Steam version as part of releasing our game on Steam. Players will of course be able to use their mobile phones and tablets with the mobile version of the game to enjoy cross-platform gameplay in Modern Warships. Mobile phones & tablets, mouse & keyboard, and Steam Deck will be first-class citizens, but we can't possibly support all the controllers in the world. Users may try using gamepads and joysticks; support for most devices is planned for the game's release.
π¦ How much does it cost to play?
Modern Warships is Free to Play!
π¦ What will Steam users benefit from Modern Warships on Steam?
There will be Steam Achievements and Collectible Cards for skilled and resourceful commanders. We also plan to release unique items at the launch of the Steam version.
π¦ Will battles be separated by device/platform?
As with all truly cross-platform games, players of different devices will compete in the same battlefield, regardless of device.
π¦ Will I be able to transfer my progress from the mobile version to Steam?
Absolutely. Being cross-platform means you can play anywhere, anytime, on your choice of device.
π¦ Does the game support 'modding'?
We neither provide nor support any form of modding. Instead, we aim to deliver a fine-tuned, optimized, top-quality game build, playable on all our supported platforms.
π¦ How do I join the testing of new updates?
We will make an official announcement when we start open beta testing. Detailed instructions will be given there. Stay tuned for official updates!
Core Game Play
π¦ Is internet connection required?
Yes, Modern Warships keeps a farm of servers that power the game experience of hundreds of millions(?) of users. Even for 'Offline modes', which we will describe later, we require internet connection.
π¦ Is it possible to play with friends?
Of course, we plan to offer various functions to add (or sometimes block...) friends. We even award squad plays through Daily Missions, and honestly the surest road (or shall we say, seaway) to victory is by squadding with friends! We also plan to offer Custom Game modes, where you can play 'against' friends - both for fun and even for titles. We will elabore more on this through a separate article.
π¦ Will there be clans in the game?
There will not only be clans, but also
Clan chats
Clan leaderboards
Clan tournaments
Top clan awards
π¦ What consumables are available for use in battle?
We will provide the following consumables for ship captains to stay relevant in battle:
Missile Countermeasures
Repair kit
Ammunition Reserve
Aircraft Missile Decoy
Torpedo Countermeasures
Engine Boost
Oxygen Reserve
Smoke Screen
Electronic Warfare
Air Electronic Warfare
π¦ What will the Battle HUD look like?
The battle HUD will feature your ship/aircraft in a third person's view, with controls for
Maneuver
Armament firing
Consumable usage
PoV switching between ships and deployed aircrafts/vessels
Radar (aka 'minimap')
Unit info & stats (damage counters, oxygen, reload points, etc.)
Alerts & messages (for detection, target lock-on, incoming threats, etc.)
Battle info (timer, points, no. of kills, checkpoints, etc.)
There are two very important aspects we aim to deliver:
Battle HUD will be optimized to the type of device. Mobile devices will have an HUD that makes optimal use of their compact screens, while PC users will benefit from a spacious yet user friendly layout which can maximize battle efficiency.
Battle HUD can be customized by device. Lefties? Check. One hand players? Check. Foldable phones and tables? Check!
More details will be available in future articles, so stay tuned!

Modern Warships' Modes and Maps
π¦ What game modes will be available?
By battle mechanism, we will prepare five major game modes:
Team Deathmatch: Two teams fight against each other within a limited timeframe. Win by destroying your opponents.
Domination: Battle for control points. The victory goes to the team that either destroys enemies first or captures the points.
Deathmatch: All participants in the match fight each other. The winner is the one who destroys the largest number of opponents in the allotted time.
Escort: Two teams are fighting for the cargo. The goal of the escort team is to deliver the cargo to the port, the goal of the interception team is to destroy it. The team that completes its goal first - wins.
Tandem Wars: Battle of 4 teams of 2 players. The team that scores the maximum number of points in the allotted time wins.
These modes will be available as
Offline games, with bots as allies and enemies
Online games, matched with individual or squadrons randomly, and
Custom games, designed for invitation-only, for all sorts of venues (fun modes, chill rooms, and even tournaments!)
Some modes will be limited exclusively for:
Time-limited, Event modes
Season-limited Ranked modes
π¦ Are there any restrictions to squad players?
While we try to provide a battle environment where all players can compete fairly, we also do not want to restrict their freedom completely.
In general, players will be able to play in squads of up to 5 people on any platform available at the time of release, and squad mates do not necessarily have to be in the same platform to play together.
There is of course an obvious restriction - squad plays are not available for'offline'games :)
π¦ What maps will we be playing on?
Scenes can take place in any part of the world imaginable - hot tropical archipelago, snowy expanses of the Arctic, pitch black storm amidst oil rigs, stone ridges with narrow escapes, post-nuclear ruins above toppled cities, etc.
In numbers, there will be 14 maps (!) available for our main game mode, Team Death Match. Other game modes will feature some of these maps to suit the battle mechanics and terrain requirements.
For example, Domination mode requires strategic points sufficiently spread out with debris, while Deathmatch and Escort modes needs carefully designed paths and safety zones to balance the tension. Stay tuned for more news, as we plan to release a separate article that deep-dives into all the battle scenes of Modern Warships!
