Missy's Transformation Tournament changes
Welcome to the final update to The First Tournament of Missy's Transformation Tournament! This one features several things, but chiefest among them is the archived fates viewer, allowing you to see all the pawns that fell across all of your stored past games. In addition there is a new type of transformation - Erinacine, which constitutes Hedgehogs, Porcupines and Echidnas as new species - the first of many new species that I hope to add in the future.
Changelog:
Added the archived fates viewer, allowing for the viewing of the entire backlog of characters stored from your previous games. These are the characters that will be imported when Kingdom mode comes, along with the ability to vet which ones are imported when Kingdom comes. For now, you can simply view them, both pre and after tournament, but all their data is ready to go!
Added item drops for fallen contestants - contestants will now drop some of their inventory upon defeat, to the ground. This happens both when you defeat a contestant and when contestants defeat one another, so expect more items than normal, both rare and common. As the game progresses, you can expect the quality/rarity of these drops to be greater, as pawns collect more and more stuff.
Added the Erinacine DNA type and the new Hedgehog, Porcupine and Echidna species into the various aspects of the game. Featuring spines on their head, these species can do a lot of damage! (As a note, this is the first DNA type that is not based on a real one - these species are very separate biologically in life).
Added the Spinefruit item into the game, fitting into the trend of uncommon items that cause transformations.
Added the new species transformations to the various transformatives methods that already exist, such as New-U and Missy's events.
Added new moves for the new species and parts, with one, Echidning, being the first move that can transform into another move.
Added various new encyclopedia pages for the newly introduced species and item.
Fixed a bug wherein the Elephant species wouldn't update properly when transforming.
Fixed the misnamed Andrabsinthe page in the encyclopedia.
Fixed several small bug fixes to some transformation mechanics.
Alas, The First Tournament is almost over. It will continue only until the next begins in July.
Work on the features exclusive to The Second Tournament is now the priority, featuring feral and tauric forms, new arenas with an arena select screen and many new ways to transform and be transformed. Alongside this will be many changes - Missy will look different, unseen characters will take to the stage and the first story content will rise.
It's wild and it's only going to get wilder from here on out!
The First Tournament was experimental, with feedback allowing it to be more fun, more exciting and more stable than it ever could be.
The First Tournament was about establishing the gameplay, the world and the mechanics. From now on, each Tournament will be themed, with related additions bundled and worked on together, much like how expansions are made for games.
Therefore, there will be no gameplay-adding updates until The Second Tournament launches, sometime in July.
The Second Tournament will be about the wild. The wilderness of the arenas, the pure animal forms of feral pawns and biological traits of transformed bodies. That's the focus for The Second Tournament, but of course, that's not all that's being worked on.
Stay tuned for more details as they solidify.
Until next time!
Jake
