V1.5.5 & V1.5.6 UPDATE

These two updates focus on controller support, DLC entries, and story-flow stability:

  1. Controller & keyboard navigation

We fixed focus navigation across several screens, including the main menu, pause menu, settings, save/load, audio settings, and research UI.

Menus now select their default buttons more reliably when using a controller or keyboard, and focus is less likely to get lost when returning from another screen. The +/- buttons in the research screen can now be focused properly as well, so controller navigation will no longer skip them.

We also added more controller button, D-pad, and left-stick mappings, and integrated Kenney Input Prompts assets as groundwork for future input prompt polish.

  1. DLC entries

The main menu now includes improved entries for two DLC items:

  • Art Book

  • Design Book

Clicking these buttons opens the local PDF directly. In v1.5.6, we added local file detection: each button only appears when the corresponding PDF is actually present. If a player has not installed the DLC, the main menu will no longer show an empty entry.

Both the Art Book and Design Book also support multiple filename candidates, including Chinese and English filename variants, improving compatibility across platforms and install paths.

  1. Main menu focus improvements

Because DLC buttons can now appear or disappear depending on local files, we also adjusted main menu focus navigation.

Keyboard and controller navigation now automatically skips hidden buttons, so menu cycling will not land on invisible entries.

  1. Story & Dialogic fixes

Fixed a capitalization mismatch with the miqilin switch in temple_02, which could previously prevent ending_03 from triggering correctly. The related ending route should now work as intended.

We also updated the Dialogic plugin to keep story timelines and character resources compatible.

  1. Localization

Added localized text for the new Design Book menu button across the currently supported languages. The Art Book button text has also been unified through the UI text table for easier future maintenance.

Special thanks to our Japanese translator Ann for kicking off a new round of Japanese localization and proofreading.

We’ll keep making small improvements based on your feedback. If you run into any issues, please let us know in the Steam community or reviews.

Thank you for playing and supporting Miss Peacock.
