Playtest 2.0 is Live!

Playtest 2.0 is live! We've added new systems, mechanics, content, and a new playable class, and chages based on the feedback you've shared during the first round.

Here’s what’s new in this version:

New Systems & Features

• Pickaxe Upgrade Machine Upgrade your pickaxe to mine faster and unlock new ore types.

• Enhancement Machine Use resources to permanently upgrade your spaceship, dungeons, and character progression.

• New Route System Choose your path through the biome. In co-op, players vote on which route to take.

• Gadget Dependency System Gadgets now synergize with your weapon type and build, encouraging deeper loadout strategies.

• Dialogue System NPCs can now engage in dynamic dialogue—laying the foundation for narrative-driven interactions.

• Tutorial A new introductory tutorial has been added (with plans for future iterations).

• Companions System

  Bring a helper into the mine. Choose between three new companions, each with a unique role.

• Website and Daily Devlogs

  We’ve launched a new Kickstone Studio website where you can follow our daily devlogs and stay up to date with the development of MineGeon: Renegades.

Enhancements (Permanent Upgrades)

• Echo Broom: Allows you to clean up base objects.

• Pickaxe Terminal: Unlocks the Pickaxe Upgrade Machine.

• Replicant Life: Adds an extra life to your pool.

• XP Magnet: Automatically collects leftover XP when you finish a level.

• Clear Rush: Gain 100% movement speed for a few seconds after clearing a room.

• AddedGadget ShopUnlocks a new Vendor NPC that sells gadgets in special rooms.

• Golden Start: Start every run with extra coins.

• Starter Gadget: Begin the dungeon with one random gadget.

• Totem Activation: Unlocks Blood Totems in dungeons. (Trade health for a chance to earn high-tier gadgets.)

• Smuggler: Adds the Smuggler NPC to dungeon runs. (Random Gadget, Ultimate and weapon vendor.)

Gadgets (15+ New Items)

• Blast Miner: Bombs drop while mining, exploding only minerals.

• Power Surge Field: On level-up, place a flag that boosts damage in its radius.

• Ammo Extender: Increases your ammo capacity.

• Laser Boost / Bazooka Boost / Pistol Boost / Charge Booster: Increases weapon damage for specific weapon types.

• Rifle Haste / Pistol Haste / Shotgun Haste / Laser Haste / Bazooka Haste / Charge Haste / Sniper Haste: Boost movement speed when using corresponding weapons.

• Party Stun: Enemies explode into confetti on death, stunning nearby foes.

• Bullet Evasion: Chance to avoid incoming projectile damage.

• Mining Orb: Orbs that deals damage only to minerals.

• Ricochet Shot: Bullets bounce to the nearest enemy.

• LV-Heal: Heal when you level up.

• Firerate: Increases overall weapon firing speed.

Ultimates (3 New Abilities)

• Damage Grenade: A powerful explosive.

• Freeze Grenade: Freezes all enemies caught in the blast.

• Missile Barrage: Launches a wave of missiles.

Ancient Gadgets

• Elite Accelerator: Reduces your ultimate class cooldown.

• Elite Reserve: Lets you use your ultimate class more times per run.

New Companions

• Bunny: Melee companion.

• Beaver: Mines minerals for you.

• Monkey: Ranged companion with projectile attacks.

New Playable Class

• Ari has joined the expedition: Wielding nanotech abilities and a unique ultimate.

New Dungeon NPCs

• Contract Miner: Assists with mining and gathering during dungeon runs.

• Smuggler: Sells randomized weapons, gadgets, and ultimates.

Other Additions

• AdjustedNew music and SFXImproved sound design for deeper immersion.

• Improved network stability: Smoother online and co-op experience.

• FixedBug fixesMany reported issues resolved.
