Midnight Souls changes
This is my first devlog in this format, but I promise — it'll be worth your time. You'll learn more about the game and where the project currently stands.
Enjoy the watch!
📖 Text version for those who like to read:
How it all began
The idea for the game came from a sense of nostalgia for an era that's slowly fading away. For the people, the places, the situations — things I wouldn't want to go through again in real life. But in a game? Why not.
I wanted to create something that feels like a snapshot of a certain mood and time. A place you could visit from anywhere in the world just to stare at familiar concrete walls.
Where's the development at?
Lots of ideas, but only one of me. If I could work on the game 48 hours a day without stopping for sleep, GTA 6, or Meowgenics — I'd be the happiest dev alive. But hey, even a solo dev needs rest. So I let myself take a break after hitting milestones, both the small ones and the big ones.
What's next?
In the near future, I'm planning to finish the story part of the game, add site quests, extra minigames, and much more. Right now, me and the artist have almost fully redone all the early art — which means a demo is waiting for you next.
Thanks for your time.
This was Sergey Bolshakov, the creator of Midnight Souls.
See you next time!
