What changed

0 fixes2 additions3 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • Compatibility
addedWhile Nidma and Celtic are busy finalizing and polishing the content for the "Mad Scientist" DLC, I took on the task of porting the game to a new game engine. The limitations of the current game engine (GameMaker Studio) are the main reason why our game has no animations for example.
changedPrimarily for that reason and because it was a good opportunity to implement a few other needed changes like cloud saves for device compatibility (Steam Deck etc) I decided to rebuild the game from scratch in Godot 4.
addedThe end result of this rebuild will not look too much different to the current version apart from the benefits of running on a more modern and capable game engine which will allow us to add some much requested additional content.
changedIn the near future there will be a playable test version for owners of the game on the beta channel here on Steam and I hope to get some feedback from all of you awesome people.

Hello wonderful people!

It's been a while since our last public post about the upcoming final DLC for Midnight Ride... and yeah... about that:

While Nidma and Celtic are busy finalizing and polishing the content for the "Mad Scientist" DLC, I took on the task of porting the game to a new game engine. The limitations of the current game engine (GameMaker Studio) are the main reason why our game has no animations for example.

Primarily for that reason and because it was a good opportunity to implement a few other needed changes like cloud saves for device compatibility (Steam Deck etc) I decided to rebuild the game from scratch in Godot 4.

The end result of this rebuild will not look too much different to the current version apart from the benefits of running on a more modern and capable game engine which will allow us to add some much requested additional content.

In the near future there will be a playable test version for owners of the game on the beta channel here on Steam and I hope to get some feedback from all of you awesome people.

So stay tuned for more information very soon!
