changedHello night drivers!Today, along with the Spring Sale, I'm bringing you a PVP update for the game!
changedHello night drivers!Since the last update, I’ve been working non-stop on a VS mode, where you can challenge your friends in local multiplayer. This mode turned out to be quite a challenge since the game wasn’t originally designed for two players. It required a significant overhaul of the game’s architecture. However, this also led to some positive improvements, such as better controller detection. At the same time, I’ve been gathering your feedback regarding the difficulty level and overall quality of the game. I’ve decided to focus on those aspects as well especially on keyboard controls.
addedBut first, let’s talk about Coop mode!Coop mode is currently in a WORK IN PROGRESS state, meaning it’s not fully completed yet. Players can race against friends, but customization options are still limited. Of course, this will change soon. Most of my time was spent on restructuring the game’s architecture. Now, I can finally add content and fix bugs more efficiently.

Hello night drivers!

Today, along with the Spring Sale, I'm bringing you a PVP update for the game!

Since the last update, I’ve been working non-stop on a VS mode, where you can challenge your friends in local multiplayer.

But first, let’s talk about Coop mode!

Coop mode is currently in a WORK IN PROGRESS state, meaning it’s not fully completed yet. Players can race against friends, but customization options are still limited. Of course, this will change soon. Most of my time was spent on restructuring the game’s architecture. Now, I can finally add content and fix bugs more efficiently.

Upcoming features for Coop mode:

  • Car selection with unique perks

  • Special boosters designed only for Coop mode (hindering opponents or helping yourself)

  • More customization options (e.g., switching from score-based races to time-based races)

  • Saving multiple stats per save file

  • General polish (animations, assets, and optimization in Coop mode)

General game improvements:

  • Keyboard controls improved by 2.5x compared to the previous version.

  • Players can now drive with 2 wheels off the track. The game will only count it as going off-track when the third wheel is about to leave.

  • Radiawave Z137 car perk (losing time instead of score)time loss has been reduced by 75%.

I’m also closely examining other car perks. I know that some of them have been disappointing, and I’m reconsidering their usefulness—some may be buffed or reworked.

Thank you so much for your feedback and engagement! More updates for Coop mode and perks will be coming soon. In the meantime, I encourage you to test the mode and share your thoughts! Stay awesome Night Drivers!
