We've been working hard on fixing a lot of bugs and quirks in the game, all thanks to your feedback!
Here's what's been patched up:
Changes:
MUCH reduced start delay when spawning higher up in a level.
Scrolling now starts early if reaching top of screen quickly.
You can temporarily push scroll speed a little bit further if you bump into top of the screen.
Scroll speed adapts better to players, it's a little more forgiving with how far down you end up on screen when transitioning from fast scroll to slow scroll.
Beer bro HP went from 20 down to 18.
Super bat HP went from 32 down to 28.
Added ability to move the spawn point above the first screen (for play-testing purposes! Do not leave the spawn point above the first screen when exporting / publishing your finalised level!)
Made the spawn point display the spawn positions of every mage.
Acid Party, All good! and Frostbite have received minor updates.
While playtesting a level in the Maker, multiple different controllers (and keyboard) now map to a single mage.
Frames per second have been locked to 60 FPS, to align with the internal emulator fixed frame rate.
Added licence to exported ROMs, found in the "Export" folder.
Added the original Micro Mages and Micro Mages: Second Quest ROMs in the "ROMs" folder where the executable is located. Select "Manage/Browse local files" in Steam to open the executable folder!
Fixes:
Horizontal fans can no longer push players into walls.
Vertical fans placed on the left/right screen borders now work properly.
No more limits on Checkpoint flag placement; players now spawn at the correct Checkpoint flag even if there are multiple on the same screen.
Scrolling no longer slows down if the player goes idle, but stays at top of screen. (e.g. being pushed via spiderwebs)
Barrels start rolling on 1st spiderweb bounce, avoids infinite stacking and lag, allows for more compact beer bro placement when working with spiderwebs.
Optimized spiderweb collisions.
Fixed subtle map load bugs.
Fairy no longer despawns from the top of the screen.
Fixed a bug where an Eye falling in lava kills nearby players.
Made player spawn position order consistent with any number of players.
Removed leftover palette overrides.
Fixed Fairy being unable to be picked by the eyedropper tool.
Fixed the play statistics of Workshop levels being cleared between sessions.
Added missing "Drop Fairy" prompt in the controls menu.
Changed the controls menu keyboard graphic to display the correct "Drop Fairy" key.
