Medieval Battlefields changes
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to see so many of you playing the game and sharing your feedback. We’ve received a lot of emails with feature requests and bug reports, and we’re doing our best to address as many of them as possible.
With that in mind, we’ve just released an update that includes several improvements and new additions:
New translations
By popular demand, the game is now translated into:
Chinese (Simplified & Traditional)
Japanese
Korean
Russian
PS: If you notice any issues with the translations, please write on the game discussion forum (or support@cateia.com) and we'll fix it for the next update.
New (old) skirmish maps
Traditionally, the game had separate maps for campaign and separate maps for skirmish modes. A lot of you requested to be able to play campaign maps in skirmish as well. This has now been done, you can now choose from 40 maps in total to play.
New feature: Large UI
This was requested by mobile users who would prefer to have a larger UI on small tablets, but the same is useful if you're playing on PC with a small screen (eg. Steam Deck).
So now you can choose a "Large UI" option in the game's settings page and it will scale the UI, Units and Map roughly by 40%.
(Pseudo) Map Editor!
Some of you asked us if the game has a map editor? Well, the bad news is - it doesn't. But, the good news is, we integrated a map converter inside the main executable, that you can use to make your own maps! (works on all OS's). (This is how we made all the maps for the game.)
Go to game's installation directory and then to data/gui/levels/definitions. all the level images are now there, as well as a readme file how to get make your own levels. The levels are defined as basic images, that you can edit in programs like MS-Paint or GIMP. The instructions are a bit technical but hopefully you'll be able to make it work. If you run into trouble, please write on the discusion forums and we'll help.
You can also send us your maps to support@cateia.com, and we just might include it in next updates as builtin skirmish maps!
