Lead Designer and Producer here at Turtle Juice. May has been an absolutely wild month for the team, here's what we've been cooking up for this edition of DECLASSIFIED:

🎮 The MECHBORN Playtest Is Live — Suit Up Pilots!
Earlier this month we launched the MECHBORN Playtest on Steam - and first things first, a huge thank you to every pilot who has already jumped in, crushed some Kaiju and laid down some seriously impressive scores in Swarm Mode. You've blown us away. Genuinely.
But for those of you yet to take up the fight, here's everything that's waiting for you:
Campaign Mode - Fight through the first continent - Alkova - and take down the Kaiju boss at the end. Good luck. You'll need it.
Swarm Mode - Survive wave after wave of Kaiju and push your build to its absolute limit. It's brutal and I love it.
One Mech. Three Builds. Twelve Parts To Unlock – Discover Skyfall, Sentinel and Reaper across Boreas's fully customisable armour sets!
2 Pilots To Discover - Start with Yumi Yukino and unlock Yan Li after your first Elite kill
115+ Cards & 100+ Infusers - Unlock, experiment and find the combos that work for you

👁️Know Your Enemy — Eyedread
S-Class Elite — Threat Level: Critical
What makes Eyedread particularly nasty is Its ability to buff itself and its allies mid-combat. Hit it hard and hit it fast - letting it settle into a rhythm is not something you want to experience first-hand. Trust me.
HP: 50–55
Moves:
Dreadlash - Deals 16 damage. Straightforward, painful, and it'll use it often.
Doomcall - Grants 3 Strength to itself and all allies. This is the one to watch - the longer Eyedread stays standing, the stronger everything around it gets.
Havoclash - Deals 5 damage three times. Don't turn up unprepared.
If you spot an Eyedread fighting alongside other Kaiju, prioritise taking it down before Doomcall snowballs out of control.
The Latest Recruit - Blake West - The Jokester
Don't let the smile fool you though - when Blake's build clicks, the damage output is anything but a joke. He rewards pilots who know when to hold back and when to go all in through the use of cheap, but powerful offensive bursts.
Pilot Skills
TRANSMUTE – Zero Cost Chaos
Converts the card in slot 4 of the belt into a random Attack card at zero cost. A fantastic tool for turning any spare card into an offensive opportunity - keeping the pressure on and the damage output high!
CANNON – The Big Swing
Doubles the damage of the next Attack card played. Simple on paper, but the cornerstone of Blake's most explosive turns when paired with the right cards.

When a Deplete card is played, it's removed from your deck for the rest of the combat. But that doesn’t matter if your whole deck is filled with Deplete cards! Pair this deck strategy with Scorpio and Scrapper and you’re dealing big damage – BUT – use Cannon beforehand and all of a sudden, those Kaiju don’t look so tough anymore.
LORDMECHA – The Kaiju Finisher
Granting 5 temporary Strength, this is a skill that’s most dangerous when combined immediately with Cannon and Gadget cards like Limitbreak.

You’re then free to unleash heavy hitting combos with cards like Polaris, Drone Thunder, or Cataclysm. Any Kaiju that are still standing afterwards aren’t likely to last for long.
REFLECT – They’ll Never See It Coming
Reflects the next incoming attack back at the enemy and takes zero damage in the process. A brilliant defensive tool that can punish aggressive Kaiju and buy Blake the breathing room he needs to set up his next combo.
