Mechanophagia changes
It’s been over a year since the launch of Mechanophagia, and we know we’ve been quiet. We want to be completely honest with you: since the launch, we had to make the tough decision to freeze major updates for the game.
As a small indie team, the economic results of the launch didn't allow us to continue dedicating full-time resources to it. We had to pivot to survive. During this time, we’ve been pouring our hearts into the development of our second game, Animas, a psychological horror title set in our home country, Venezuela.
But we never forgot about Mechanophagia. It was our first game, and it holds a special place in our hearts. That’s why, despite our focus on Animas, we decided to take a couple of weeks to pause everything else and give Mechanophagia the love and polish it has been missing since last year.
We are happy to announce that a New Update is available right now! Here is what’s new:
Major Localization Update: This is the biggest change. We want more players to enjoy the game in their native tongue, so we have localized the UI and texts into 8 new languages:
Simplified Chinese
Korean
Japanese
German
French
Russian
Portuguese (Brazil)
Italian
- New Music TracksPreviously, the music could feel repetitive across levels. We have added brand new tracks for Level 2 and Level 3. Now, every stage has its own unique musical identity to match the intensity of the hordes.
- Progression BalanceWe heard you. Some achievements were nearly impossible or too grindy. We have adjusted the progression curve and achievement requirements to make them challenging but fair.
- Bug FixesFixed a specific bug where players could take damage during the transition animation to the Level 3 boss fight.
- Engine UpdateWe updated the project to the latest Unity version to address the security vulnerability discovered earlier this year, ensuring a safer experience for everyone.
While we cannot promise major content updates or expansions as our resources are fully committed to Animas, we will do our best to keep an eye on the game for minor details.
We need your help: Since we are a small team, ensuring perfect translations in so many languages is a massive challenge. If you spot any errors, typos, or weird phrasing in your language, please report them to us on the Steam forums! We want to fix them.
Thank you for playing, for your patience, and for supporting us on this journey.
