🐾Hello Magical Cats! 🐾
We're happy to share that our first update is on the way, focusing on some important improvements to the current version of MeCatVR. This update should be live early March.
Thank you all so much for playing and enjoying our little game. Reaching over 2,200 unique users in just two months and having so many positive reviews has been incredibly motivating for us. We know that there is still a lot we can improve on but it seems like a promising start.
What is coming in the first update?
As a quick summary we are working on an Intro Sequence, a Meta Quest 2 standalone release and minor bug-fixing and tweaks. We are very aware of the collisions being frustrating at times (Kitchen drawers we looking at you) but more on that later.
Initial Game Sequence
To make the experience feel more polished from the very beginning, the game will now start with our studio logo and title card, before transitioning smoothly into the intradiegetic book menu.
Tutorial Starting Position
Related to the initial sequence, now the player should appear directly in front of the book until the last page is passed.
Miscellaneous Fixes and Polish
After receiving your feedback and watching you play, we want to do some minor changes such as objects placement, more visibility on the Desktop Quest, remove the invisible collider in the chimney and do other similar improvements to make the experience smoother.
Meta Quest 2 Standalone Release
Right now the standalone version MeCatVR is not available for the Meta Quest 2 device. This will be fixed in the upcoming patch. It is not affecting directly to you, the Steam users, but is worth mentioning.
Collisions
This is a tough one. We have heard you having a frustrating experience sometimes while traversing the house, specially in the Kitchen area and with furniture such as drawers and the fridge. This is a complex matter and has no instant fix. (we want to relieve stress not frustrate :D).
While we work on the fix, here are a couple of tips. First, if you experience inconsistencies with the paws' collision, we recommend using the nails to grab on the floor or any piece of furniture to walk/climb more smoothly. Second, you don't need to grab and release each step with the nails, you can just hold them and walk/climb normally.
We hope you keep enjoying our game, we read every review and will keep improving MeCatVR until it feels polished and has all the content we want.
We would love to answer all your feedback and reviews but Steam doesn't allow it, so if you want to share any questions or doubts you can do it in this post and we will happily answer.
Thank you so much for your support! 💖
