changedA short digression: Ever since Mayjasmine's release on December, we've received tons of feedback, both negative and positive. We are sincerely grateful for such wonderful opinions, for they are the key to our team's improvement. As for the issue of translation... yes, we will definitly go work on that. As for the motivation: On May, 2014, there was a huge anti-Chinese protest in Vietnam. In 1998, similar events happened, and its scale was, if not the same, even worse than the Vietnam protest. This event reminded us several dark memories and, due to our private reasons, we decided to choose the events of May, 1998 as our topic for our next game. During the investigation and data analysis process, our team was surrounded by a pressing atmosphere. Not only is the event itself having a dark nature, but the cruelty and bloodiness of the historical materials only worsens our case. Moreover, this event resembles a kaleidoscope: everyone sees the event from different perspectives, yet claims their own perspective to be the whole. This is essentially why such events keep repeating themselves. Despite all that, however, it was our team's faith, reflected upon in Mayjasmine, that supported us: to end the persecution, to strive for peace between different races, to work for gender equity, and to support the freedom of sexual orientation. So many have perished, yet what lessons do they bring upon the living? Has the disclosure of these bloody material become forbidden, buried in the earth of history, never to be mentioned ever again? We hope to try our best to express our belief that persecution of any form, for any reason, ought not to exist. This includes but is not limited to internation persecution, but also the more relevant religioun persecution, sexual orientation persecution, and sexual persecution. Even now, as this post is being read, there are countless persecutions happening everywhere, known or unbeknownst. Peace and self-evaluation, or the eternal hatred, these are what us, the living people, should take time to contemplate. When those that have perished have become a stastical data on reports, perhaps all we would do is type R.I.P., then discard them from our memories. But when they've become characters starring in a play representing their thoughts and expressions, we believe that something ought to be understood. Those lost souls, injured flesh, innocent dreams, and love themselves. It's less than 3 years until the 20th anniversary of the 1998 event. We hope that Mayjasmine could help shed light on this dark history, to encourage more thoughts on historical events and lessons. History can be forgiven, but never forgotten.
