The Accountant Patch

This is The Accountant Patch. These notes also include a summary of disparate fixes made over the course of a week or two.

Many of the changes detailed below are extremely trivial, so strap in and get ready for a wild ride!

Visual and Functionality Fixes

• Corrected a line overflow error when obtaining the Motor item in Chapter 2

• Corrected an error in which Iidenosuke's character sprite was mispositioned, which originated from the shift to a horizontal UI

• Caught choice buttons twitching when clicked and corrected the issue

• Fixed an issue where the Clues button appeared overlapping with a text window after an Argument

• Made it easier to access the History while reviewing evidence to present during a trial

English Text Fixes

• Corrected a typo in Ideha's character bio.

• Corrected line breaking for several decisions in Chapter 3.

• Corrected several instances of inconsistent capitalization surrounding stuttered remarks.

• Corrected Koume's use of honorifics to be more accurate and consistent. This might be more important than you would think...

• Altered the line introducing the mountain temple Ritsuganji to make it easier to parse.

• Renamed the evidence "Sakatas' Use of Oil" to "The Sakatas' Use of Oil"

• Miscellaneous text adjustments.

Accountancy Fixes

We have been informed that an Accountant must possess a college degree. As the availability of degrees from properly certified educational institutions during the Ouka period of pseudo-Japanese history is dubious, we hereby grant Ryu Ootaki the rank of Honorary Accountant, just in case.

She is referred to as an "accountant" in-game and no longer calls herself a "bookkeeper", an act of self-debasement which would, we are informed, tear to tatters the pride of any true accountant. We have ambiguated the accounting capacity of Koume Kawai to non-specific financial operations.

Additionally, we have taken another look at the use of Numbers in the game and tightened up the cases in which they are written out longform and when they are written with numerals. We now prefer to write them out longform, except in cases where they are both large and specific, and in cases in which they refer to an hour of the day.

Finally, we also made a few internal changes to reduce the duplication of lines, which makes it a lot harder for bugs to appear and should help facilitate the translation of Chapter 4.
