First of all, we would like to thank everyone who bought Frontier this weekend. Being completely honest, the release has been a bit rocky. We feel honesty is the best policy, so this update is with the intention of letting everyone know what is going on. Within the last few weeks of development, a terribly annoying, game-crashing bug started popping up: specifically with the game crashing upon opening the map.. Sometimes. This particular bug has been evading us despite hundreds of man-hours in testing. In an attempt to avoid this bug from being a problem for players and ruining the experience, the decision was made to revert to a slightly older build of the game before it was occurring in order to remove variables that could be causing the problem. Unfortunately, despite the bug appearing to no longer happen as far back as we went, upon releasing to the public, it seems to be happening for players anyway. With the reversion, some finished art assets and game content had not made into the version that shipped, but will be added back in as well as more. We currently have a more involving plan to fix the crashes that are happening and are working to correct them as well as taking actions to help keep the consequences of a crash for any reason to a minimum. Thanks to the feedback we have been getting in the community, this is even more helpful. We would like to have the first patch out within a week. Not all problems present may be fixed by then, but the hope is that the game will be more stable. In retrospect, with some of the problems occurring, pushing back the release might have helped to not make such a bad impression. Our goal was to stick to our word and work as hard as we could to meet our release date. And we did. With that being said, we still want to be a company that is true to our word, and so we would like to keep a good level of transparency with our players. We understand that the play experience so far has not been up to your standards, and it is not up to ours either. We will continue to post here in the Community page with further updates. Thank you all again. -HyperKat Games.
