Maid Cafe Simulator changes
First, a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who played the game and sent us your valuable feedback. We read every review and every piece of feedback carefully, and we're working to reflect your input as quickly and actively as we possibly can!
🎉 Coming Soon — New Maids Are Joining the Demo!
Right now, only two maids are here to greet you in the demo. To everyone who's been asking "When do we get to meet the others?" — hang in there just a little longer! 💖
In an upcoming update, three more maids — YUKI, JENNIE, and MOMO — will join the demo!
🦊 YUKI 🐐 JENNIE 🦝 MOMO
We're working hard so you'll be able to meet all five maids right inside the demo. If you were a little let down that only some of the maids showed up, we hope this comes as great news! We'll share the exact timing in our next post.
Patch Notes
This patch includes early-game economy balancing, improved customer behavior, cleanup of the cooking / wish / recipe systems, sound volume balancing, and a number of bug fixes. We focused especially on your feedback about early-game cash flow and customer pacing, and further balance tuning is still ongoing.
💰 Economy · Balance
Chocolate Milk's selling price was raised from $1.50 → $2.91. -> It uses two ingredients (milk and cacao) but was priced the same as single-ingredient drinks, leaving its margin far too thin. We brought it in line with same-tier drinks.
The last digit of drink prices was adjusted down to the cent. -> Change used to come out in dull, round amounts on every menu item, so we varied it to keep counting it out a bit more interesting.
Maintenance fees were changed to a progressive, scaling structure. -> The base fee was lowered from $10 → $5, but the per-tier cost rises as you expand the cafe (expansions 1–4: $5 / 5–8: $9 / 9–12: $13 / 13–17: $19). This eases the early burden while adding weight as you grow.
Cooking appliance prices were adjusted. -> To encourage a natural buying order — Blender first, then Brewer — the Blender now costs $70 → $50, with the Brewer at $70.
Dining table prices were lowered. -> To ease the early cost of securing seats, the 1-seater is now $50 → $35 (resale value is half the purchase price).
Trash can and shelf prices were lowered. -> Trash can $40 → $10, shelf $50 → $20.
🧑🍳 Customers
Customers now visit more often as your cafe levels up. -> We addressed how few customers showed up early on, so visit intervals gradually shorten as you grow.
Customer mood now drops faster when they're left waiting. -> We dialed up the tension of putting off service — leave them too long and they'll head out sooner.
Turned-away customers now get more upset (no seats, no menu, not enough cash). -> They're now more likely to leave a negative social media review, so you'll want to think twice before sending someone away.
💵 Giving Change
The margin of error was narrowed from $2 → $1. -> We took your feedback that making change was too easy, while keeping it balanced rather than overly strict.
🍹 Cooking Station
The recipe UI was removed from the minigame screen for a cleaner look.
Missing-ingredient feedback was improved. -> The overhead speech bubble now shows which ingredient you're short on via an icon. You can select a recipe even without the ingredients, and an auto-craft order no longer cancels itself when ingredients run out.
The overhead progress bubble now stays visible even while a maid is auto-cooking.
✨ Wishes · Recipe Book
A Rest (sleep) Wish was added as a main wish. -> The Blender wish was also refined to follow a 'phone → purchase → craft' flow.
A "Feed MINA" wish was added. -> Make a Lemon Apple Smoothie and feed it to her to earn affinity and EXP as a reward.
The recipe book was cleaned up. -> Cards are now clearly marked by state (locked / hint / unlocked), and the sorting stays stable. The Lemon unlock level was set to 0, and the base tier group is now hidden from the book.
🔊 Sound
A swallowing sound effect was added for when the player eats or drinks directly.
Maid dialogue volume was balanced. -> Some maid recordings came through too quietly, so we normalized them across the board.
Male / female customer voice volume was balanced. -> We fixed male customer voices sounding too quiet.
Feeding reactions now change based on preference (likes it = delight / neutral = acknowledgment / dislikes it = silence).
A click sound was added to the social media Like button, and the affinity-up sound was toned down slightly.
The overhead alert sound no longer plays when a maid's willpower drops. -> Like EXP, tips, and affinity, sounds now play only for positive changes, for consistency.
🖥️ UI · Graphics · Convenience
A motion blur on/off graphics option was added, along with overall graphics performance improvements.
An outline was added to the register's amount display for better readability.
Wheel-scroll sensitivity in text conversations was increased. -> No more sluggish scrolling.
Shop images (tables, counters) were updated, and main hall / kitchen expansions now unlock from level 2.
🐛 Bug Fixes
Fixed OMU appearing gray in the main intro, and the outer skybox showing through.
Fixed a shelf-saving bug, and an issue where pulling an empty box from a shelf was mistaken for cleaning.
Fixed the cleaning gauge holding onto its previous value.
Fixed profile pictures not showing when continuing a social media session.
Every single piece of feedback you send is genuinely shaping this game. Even if we can't act on every request at once, we'll keep listening to your voices and reflecting your feedback as quickly and actively as we can — to repay you with a better experience.
