MagFighter changes
Since launching Magfighter, it has been an incredible journey seeing people engage with the world I’ve built. However, I want to be transparent with you all: the current player count hasn't quite reached the levels needed to sustain a vibrant, active community.
I spent 18 months of my life—countless nights and weekends—pouring my heart into this project. Seeing those efforts sit on a shelf is tough, but my primary goal has always been for people to actually experience and enjoy the game. I want the arenas full, the matches fast, and the community thriving.
To make that a reality, we are making a major shift: Magfighter is going Free-to-Play.
Effective at the end of April (notwithstanding Steam approval process)
Our Way of Saying Thank You
I am incredibly grateful to those of you who supported the game early on. I don’t want your contribution to be forgotten in this transition.
To honor our original supporters, we are releasing a Skin Pack DLC. This will include all the existing skins you've already got access to. And putting them behind a pay wall for new starters.
Existing Players: If you already own Magfighter, this DLC will be added to your library automatically and for free. It is a permanent mark of your status as an original supporter.
New Players: Once the game transitions to F2P, the base game will be free, and this DLC will be available for purchase for those who want to support further development.
What’s Next?
We are currently working with Valve to finalize the billing transition, which we expect to go live in a few weeks.
My biggest hope is that this change opens the doors for a wave of new players to discover what makes Magfighter special. I can’t wait to see you all in the game.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
