Lying Souls changes
Hello everyone,
The second chapter of Lying Souls is now ready for you to play. Dive into the mysterious continuation of the story about Redstack and their crazy plans.
It's not just the second chapter that offers new content. I've also reworked the prologue and chapter 1 from the ground up. There are now also the Steam Achievements that were missing before. Besides some QoL changes, there are also changes that have more influence on the gameplay. You can find the full patch notes below.

Additions / Changes:
Added the second chapter
Reworked the whole prologue graphically and technically
Added (5) achievements
Added multi-page documents and notes
Added a setting for ambient volume
Added a setting for exposure / brightness
Added way more relevant dialogue text for story reasons
Implemented system that sounds adapt depending on where the player is
Implemented Unreal Engines Lumen technology
Changed the ending of chapter 1 for better understanding of the story
Changed the sounds of various object interactions
Changed game icon on Windows for better visibility
Changed the brightness and overall strength of the flashlight
Changed some level transitions
Improved movement system & feeling for motion
Improved readability for raw content text of the newspaper articles
Improved the settings menu for easier control of video & audio settings
Added a setting for control of global illumination
Improved overall stability and performance
It is no longer required to switch on power in the final level of chapter 1
Updated to Unreal Engine 5.4

Bug Fixes:
Fixed a bug that the end scene in chapter 1, could be activated multiple times
Fixed a bug that some sounds could not be heard after the master volume was set to 0% once
Fixed a bug where the landscape texture in some levels were displayed way too large
Fixed a bug where the chapter progress was not saved
Fixed various volumes ambient sound effects
Fixed an issue where the master volume partially did not affect some sounds
Removed collisions with physical objects that caused unwanted movements
Fixed the low shadows graphic settings not working properly
Fixed some sounds that should be 3D
Fixed various object placements
Fixed some audio volumes
Fixed some typos
Known Issues:
Performance problems for some hardware in some levels
Some sounds continue to play even when the game is paused
NOTE: The performance got better, but I am still working on improvements for the performance on new as well as old hardware.
