# LMTS Patch Notes
## EA Patch 4 (2026-05-31)
Early Access launch wasn't where I wanted it. Patch 4 is the bar I'll hold from here.
A pile of long-standing bugs squashed, the victory picker reworked, dungeon map fixed in all three dungeons, smoother audio and transitions across the board, and the start of an in-game bug report flow so you can tell us when something's off without leaving the game.
Patch 4 highlights:
The game should no longer crash during rare map interactions.
We have unified competing systems so for the first time each card and relic and upgrade interaction should do what it says.
If you find something that we missed, please inform on discord or via the new bug/suggestion button in settings.
A lot of music has been curated, events optimised and ambient stylized. Much less fog and colorless places unless where it earns its place.
Berserker's animations have been rebuilt from the ground up. Expect this quality and better as the minimum bar moving forward.
A lot of time this patch has been spent on rewiring and re-architecting a lot of system to pave way for the vision. This version is what we wanted the Early Access to be. Now when we are here we will start looking at the next classes and more enemies and bosses. Please drop suggestions at our Discord.
### Bug Fixes — Combat
**Crimson Communion** now actually heals you. Previously it silently failed to heal while still costing you max HP.
**Cloth** relic correctly grants armor on the first turn of combat again.
Cards that draw cards no longer prematurely end your turn. (The oldest bug in the book, and we've added a guard so it stays dead.)
**Soul Echo** upgrade now shows a clear "SOUL ECHO!" indicator with a brief pause so you can actually see what fired.
**Beholder Cube** boss: health bar, numbers, and armor icons no longer stack on top of each other.
**Bestowal cards are now per-copy.** Playing one copy of a Bestowal card no longer affects the "first use" state of other copies in your deck.
**Player no longer invisible in Guardian battles** (and any battle after opening the character sheet). Long-standing visibility bug, now resolved across all classes.
**Enemy status icons now center horizontally** instead of left-stacking.
**Berserker death sound** now plays reliably (previously cut off mid-play between battles). Same fix applied to True Curse death paths.
### Bug Fixes — Lightning
Lightning bolts no longer end in sharp square caps at impact.
Lightning strikes now hit the enemy's visual center instead of landing off to the side. Applies to **Wrath Strike**, **Call Storm**, **Storm of Blood**, **Scroll of Lightning**, **Ball of Blood**, and sky lightning weather effects.
### Bug Fixes — Visuals
**Fire now burns upward** correctly.
### Bug Fixes — Cards & Relics
Many card upgrades now correctly show the green "+N" delta in tooltips. Previously the indicator was missing on cards that overrode the default tooltip.
**Combo Art** relic tooltip now shows 3 steps (instead of misleading 4) for newly-discovered wild combos, until the 4th step reveals.
**Divine Gift** passive description cleaned up (removed long parenthetical that was making the passive list look cluttered).
### Bug Fixes — Map & Dungeons
**Boss room icon no longer hidden behind the top bar** when leaving the room before the boss in any of the three dungeons. Long-standing visual bug, finally pinned.
Top bar drift in dungeons — the multi-month "the whole game window slid down and right" bug — is fixed.
Bonus side-effect of the boss icon fix: smoother transitions when entering and leaving rooms in dungeons. The old version was costing frames.
### UI & Polish
- **Victory picker reworked**stronger selected-state visuals on World Prestige and Heritage cards, tier chips removed for cleaner reads, scrolling support when 4+ heritages are unlocked.
**Battle Tactician** Heritage is now auto-seeded on all save slots (new and existing).
**Survivalist** Heritage restored to the pool.
**Player Town**: just-picked building shadow now bounces and flashes after you confirm BUILD BUILDING, so you can spot which one is being built at a glance.
**Little Palace**: heritage tooltip now appears immediately when you click a character (was waiting for a mouse-move that didn't always happen).
**Collection journal**: page rows are now packed tighter (no more stretching across the panel).
**Temple** in Player Town: clicking the tunnel entrance now correctly opens Temple (the button was silently failing).
**Shop "Sell Card"** slot now renders a proper full card back (was rendering just the top-left fragment).
- **Character selector**Berserker tooltip wording corrected; tooltip styling tightened so it no longer bleeds through the Headmaster background.
- **Class & Heritage tooltips** in Little Palacenew opaque styled panel matching the character selector treatment.
**Player Town tooltips**: building shadow tooltips now centered above the source.
### Tooltips
**Card type color canon locked.** Attack = red, Skill = blue, Power = orange, Curse = purple, Town cards = cyan, Life/heal = green, Block = light blue, Mana = dark blue, Gold = yellow, keywords = gold, status names = red. Roughly 210 cards audited and corrected for color drift.
**HP → Life** renames across statuses, relics, and cards for consistent player-facing language.
**Throwing Axe and Guard** tooltips no longer show literal `\
` text. Same fix applies to any future 2-line centered tooltip.
**Battle UI tooltips** now wired on the heart icon, block icon, enemy intent, and life bar.
**World Prestige** line removed from the Heart/Life and Turn Counter tooltips — it lives on the character sheet now.
**Passives** line removed from the Draw Pile tooltip — passives now only on the character sheet.
### Saves
**Deleting a save slot now fully clears all state.** Starting a new run in a slot you previously deleted no longer carries over stale quest progress, achievements, or unlock data from the old slot.
**Pause menu**: Save-to-Main-Menu and Save-and-Exit buttons now work correctly.
### New Player Experience
**New player experience reworked end-to-end** — from first leave through Headmaster, Royal Seal flow, and the first Player Town buildings. The full flow is locked at this patch's spec.
**Three new Player Town buildings**: Gate, Memorial Shrine, and Temple Fountain — each pairs with the post-tutorial Royal Seal unlock flow.
**Player Town building costs lowered** across the board so the town fills out at a pace that matches the new player flow.
**Headmaster transition cinematics** edited and polished — pre-Headmaster intro and Headmaster → Player Town outro.
**Star Travel** music plays at the cut moment when leaving the Headmaster.
**Gong** chime on Head Out + Heritage click for tactile weight.
### Audio
Refreshed button click and hover sounds across save slot, character select, battle, Little Palace start screens, and HEAD OUT.
Smoother audio fade during scene transitions (HEAD OUT → battle, save slot → resume, character select → Player Town, Little Palace → character select).
Eliminated the first-click audio stutter on the save slot button after cold-launching the game.
Added a safety cap that catches audio spikes regardless of how you stack your volume sliders.
### Cinematics
Smoother fade-in (0.5s) on intro/outro cinematics — first leave, opening movies, palace pans.
First-leave: cursor stays hidden during the cinematic on both first and repeat viewings.
### New: In-Game Bug Reports
New **"Report a Bug"** button in the pause menu. Describe the issue, optionally attach your current session log, send. The local file path is shown so you can also share it on our Discord if you want.
### New: Gameplay Data Toggle
New **"Share Gameplay Data"** toggle in Settings → Gameplay (default ON). Helps us catch which screens confuse players, where stutters happen, and which tutorials get skipped. Player choice always. Flip it off and nothing about your run is tracked.
### Tutorials
New first-win tutorial popup explaining World Prestige cards and Heritages. Appears once per save slot, then never again.
### Known
The volcano and dark manor dungeon hub rooms still have a small visible image swap when you enter and exit (the hub uses a different background than the dungeon map). Looks intentional, will get a deliberate art pass next patch.
### Visuals
We're proud of the new animations. In some rare combinations they can still play out a bit "funky." We're plugging those as fast as you report them on our Discord.
