0.5.7 Released

I'm pleased to announce that Louie 0.5.7 has been released! The two biggest call outs in this release are definitely the addition floor push-buttons, and all the game progression tracking.

I'm pleased to announce that Louie 0.5.7 has been released! The two biggest call outs in this release are definitely the addition floor push-buttons, and all the game progression tracking. Levels now keep track of your best scores, and how many secrets and pickups you have left to find. This release also marks the end of feature development for Louie. At this point, the remaining work falls neatly into bug fixing, level design, and steam achievements.

  • subtle visual improvement to dbl jump

  • boxes should really now not kill you if they're on lava

  • editor includes floor push buttons

  • new level, "Lemon Squeezy" that has push buttons

  • cheat codes can be used through the in-game console (if you want to know them, ask, or guess)

  • current secret/pickup scores can be seen on pause screen

  • score screen includes a x/5 grading mechanism, where the score is derived from your health, pickups, and secrets found.

  • total secrets/pickups, best score are recorded per level and shown on the island map

  • score screen has a continue button hint.

  • island level selection has a play button hint

  • security cameras can be shot

  • moving platforms can have a color field

(when you look at a level from the island-map, you can see your best score)

(when you beat a level, you'll see a score, out of 5, which directly correlates to how tasty your ice cream cone is...)

This is the raw art asset for the floor button, stuck in an up/down loop.

Thanks for reading!
