Repeated intro
Hey everyone,

Before we jump into this week’s update, we first want to say thank you. Lost Legions has now passed 80,000 wishlists on Steam, and seeing so many people excited for the game means a lot to us. We’re incredibly grateful for all the support and feedback you’ve given us so far.
Over the past few weeks, a big part of our work has been deciding what the Early Access version of Lost Legions should focus on most. That meant making some difficult choices internally and setting aside ideas that, while cool, did not directly improve the main player experience. The result is a much clearer direction for the game.
Sharpening the Main Gameplay Experience One of our biggest goals recently has been making the gameplay feel more focused and rewarding. The main experience is now built around a clearer gameplay flow:
Build and defend your camp
Improve your gear, crafting, and gathering
Venture into the wilderness
Attack or infiltrate dangerous locations
Secure resources and story progress
Return home, upgrade, and prepare for your next expedition
This gives the game a much stronger sense of progression and helps connect combat, exploration, crafting, and base-building into one more cohesive experience. We have also tied important rewards, progression, and story moments more closely to handcrafted locations across the world, making exploration feel more meaningful.
Making the World Feel More Unique Another major focus has been improving the overall presentation of the game. We want Lost Legions to feel less generic and much more rooted in its Roman and Germanic setting, so we are currently improving things like:
UI and menus
naming and terminology
visual effects and presentation
dialogue and story pacing
Our goal is simple: Romans should feel Roman. Germanic tribes should feel Germanic. We want the world and its characters to feel more immersive, distinct, and memorable.
Voice Acting While the entire game will not be fully voiced, we are putting voice acting into the most important parts of the experience, including:
Main story scenes
Main story dialogue
Major characters
The player character
This will help make the story feel more cinematic and immersive.
Improving Performance We are also spending a lot of time improving performance and optimization. Our goal is simple: we want Lost Legions to not only look good, but run smoothly on the kinds of PCs most players actually use. So far, we’ve already made strong progress:
On our minimum target machine, performance improved from 30–40 FPS to around 60 FPS on low settings
Our next goal is 60 FPS on mid-range machines at medium settings
There is still more work to do, but performance has become one of our biggest priorities right now.
What’s Next We are currently preparing for another playtest, and we are excited to get more of you into the game again soon. If you want the best chance to join future tests and stay up to date on all announcements, the best place is our Discord, where we share news first and keep the community updated on everything happening behind the scenes.
Thank you again for following the journey, and we can’t wait to show you more soon ⚔️
