The Plants Update has arrived - a meaningful step toward making your retreats feel even more alive, softer, and more “yours”.

New décor items

This update adds a fresh batch of cozy items to play with, focused on warmth, comfort, and atmosphere:

  • Plants - bring a little life indoors (and out).

  • Teddy bears - because every retreat deserves a quiet companion.

  • Carpets - instantly warmer floors, instantly cozier vibes.

  • Tablecloths - small detail, big mood.

  • Deck chairs - slow mornings, long sunsets.

  • Pillows - the universal symbol of “you can rest here”.

New launch option: DirectX 11 (DX11)

This update also introduces a DirectX 11 launch option. If you’re not familiar with DirectX: it’s basically the graphics “mode” the game uses to talk to your PC.

Up until now, Log Away launched in DirectX 12 (DX12) by default. DX12 can run great on many systems, but for some players it can also mean lower performance or crashes.

With the new DX11 option:

  • You should see much better performance if DX12 wasn’t playing nicely with your setup.

  • If you experienced crashes, DX11 should be the stable fix with no crashes at all.

How to use DX11:

  • Go to your Steam Library → right‑click Log Away → Properties → General → Launch Options → select Play DirectX 11 (Compatibility).

  • And if DX12 already runs perfectly for you, feel free to keep using it.

Fixes, optimization & polish

Alongside the new items, we also tackled minor bug fixes, optimization, and general polish to keep everything running smoother and feeling better.

Coming in January

We’re not stopping here. In January, we’re bringing:

  • Kitchen furnishings & items (highly requested).

  • Full compatibility with Steam Deck.

  • Probably more surprises.

Holiday wishes

Wherever you are, and however your year has been: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

May 2026 treat you gently - with fewer rushed days, more quiet evenings, and at least a little time to slow down… even if it’s just for one cozy hour in your retreat.
