Repeated intro

Hey all!

What changed

0 fixes3 additions3 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
changedBad/Dark Lighting The Camera Movement Dead Ends that lead nowhere Lack of Water Physics (no water waves and refractions) Objects not swimming in the Water
addedIt will take me a while to get everything right. This is my first unreal engine game and I am still relatively new to this. Some things seem very hard to do, and I dont know anyone who can help me out or teach me, besides some basics. Please know that I DO have the issues on my list and I will fix or improve them down the road.
changedIncreased Flashlight Brightness (to counter really dark areas more effectively) - Increased Flashlight Range by 300% - Changed Flashlight color slightly to have a more yellowy look
addedAdded a Function to the game to change the camera behavior from smooth (filmic look) to normal (stiff and fast reaction)
addedTo do this, just press left alt in the game. Several Hints have also been added so the function will not be forgotten.
changedThis is just the start of the work I have planned. Stay tuned for more updates, I will work on the game whenever I can and make sure the updates are not rushed and done properly. Making an enjoyable experience for the majority of players is my top priority.

Overall, the feedback was very positive but there is also room for improvement. The most common complaints were:

Bad/Dark Lighting The Camera Movement Dead Ends that lead nowhere Lack of Water Physics (no water waves and refractions) Objects not swimming in the Water

It will take me a while to get everything right. This is my first unreal engine game and I am still relatively new to this. Some things seem very hard to do, and I dont know anyone who can help me out or teach me, besides some basics. Please know that I DO have the issues on my list and I will fix or improve them down the road.

For Todays Patch, I have made some changes that should help some players being frustrated with the game so here are the patchnotes:

  • Increased Flashlight Brightness (to counter really dark areas more effectively) - Increased Flashlight Range by 300% - Changed Flashlight color slightly to have a more yellowy look

  • Started reworking the lighting in Level 4 (some areas are now brighter and easier to read)

  • Added a Function to the game to change the camera behavior from smooth (filmic look) to normal (stiff and fast reaction)

To do this, just press left alt in the game. Several Hints have also been added so the function will not be forgotten.

This is just the start of the work I have planned. Stay tuned for more updates, I will work on the game whenever I can and make sure the updates are not rushed and done properly. Making an enjoyable experience for the majority of players is my top priority.

Thats all for now and see you next time.
