Lilith Odyssey changes
Finally done!
We are happy to announce that we are locked in for a launch of the game, this Friday, August 20th! It has been a really long time for us. As a pair of game-developers who have worked on this project for five years while simultaneously holding full-time day jobs -- we are thrilled to be able to deliver this game to you. It's going to be both an exciting and an emotional moment for us. We really hope you enjoy the game -- and we hope your feedback will continue to roll in, which helps us bring the game to higher levels.
Launch Discount & New Features
For the first 7 days, we'll be offering a launch discount of 23%! We'll be releasing version (EA 1.00.018), and incrementing from this baseline. A number of exciting new features have been implemented since the demo, and many bugs \ polish issues have been addressed.
Development Notes (v. EA 1.00.018)
After the demo event, we began working on a number of significant issues & features identified by the community. Thanks community! We will continue to implement your ideas & suggestions.
Special thanks to @DeexEnigma, @Narkulus, @Nookrium, @pel, @RehabSubmarine, @Evan9808, @hawkeye, @ShadowKnightEX, @xerxes8169, @Kojimin, @SekansAval, and @Pizzabonez who identified many issues that we were able to resolve before the launch!
Features
New Ship: The StarCruise 550
New Ship: The Jerbis Freight Class
Planet Camera can now be rotated using middle mouse (the space camera already had this ability).
Standard Planet Camera now angled behind player, no longer birds-eye view (looks much nicer).
Games can now be saved.
The game can be paused now (activating the Tab-Screen will not pause the game).
Manual is now cleaner and easier to read (fewer text walls, more pictures, more direct language used to identify key actions player needs to know).
Player's suit now performs thermal regulation when on exceptionally cold or hot worlds. This requires battery power. If battery power is lost, thermal regulation will stop, and the player may overheat or freeze to death.
Balance
Distances between home planets and initial stars were adjusted. We want that distance to be about 14 LY for now, but may adjust after depending on the community's input.
Galaxy now has many more animals, raiders, and civilizations (less vacuous).
Sailing is faster & more fuel efficient.
Farms now much more efficient during the day, and less efficient at night.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where space-raids could crash the game.
Resolved an issue where the tutorial would randomly close after exactly 7 in-game days.
Resolved a bug where the macro "%offer_item%" was not replaced during trade encounters.
Planet items, such as farms and crates are now correctly reloaded after a game-save and load.
Storm sound no longer continues when a player beams down to a planet from a space storm.
Tutorial flow issues resolved (skipping steps, inaccessible objectives, etc.)
Polish
Added info about Power Usage to the manual.
Added Combat information to the manual.
Made ration-converting information more clear in the manual.
Native spu given unique technologic uniforms.
Lilith surface (the target planet) has been adjusted significantly.
