Hello everyone! As we wrote a few weeks ago, Lightmatter is turning five years this month!🥳

changedOur big dream was to release the game on Steam, so we decided to keep exploring lights & shadows as an active gameplay mechanic. Since this was our first big game project, we had to go through many trials and tribulations before the game could finally see the light of day in 2020!
addedAs a special treatment to everyone in the Lightmatter community, today we are releasing a bundle with 9 never-before-released prototype builds — spanning from 2013 to 2018. Each of the prototypes tell the story of the many challenges we went through as an indie game studio. We were a completely new team, so we had to learn everything from scratch — including how to design puzzles, writing a sci-fi story, running a business, and pitching to investors and publishers.

Some of you might already know that the game actually began as a university project called 'See You On The Other Side' in 2013! The game looked very different back then with its hatching art style and main focus on jumping through shadows.
