addedIt's been 2 years since Light the Lamp Hockey has been released and I have spent those 2 years sitting back and letting the game marinate. I did plan on releasing an update but I decided to hold off on it for now. The reason being is I don't want to break anything currently and there is a high possibility that could happen. Another thing is I want this game to keep it's style. Currently, there is no game that quite plays like LTL Hockey. I have done a ton of research into the hockey games of the past. And even some current hockey gaming with the new offerings. I come to the conclusion that this game must not change as I feel the dynamic nature makes it unique. Sure, there are things that annoy me currently with the game but then I take a step back and realize why I have that in there. For instance, I had a season where I tried to win the season championship in points but ended up losing a ton of games and had players leave and was stuck filling positions with subs. Well, I annihilated a team 6-2 and the game was overturned due to the subs, which honestly cracked me up because I thought I snapped the losing streak, well.. technically. but didn't get any points out of it which are crucial to filling roster spots. And with that, that's what makes LTL Hockey unique, it simulates beer league hockey and all it's insanity. There are plenty of instances that can happen and I'm very proud of it. Despite it's lack of marketing and attention, I made this game and it was the game I wanted to make. It is my greatest achievement in challenges professionally. A game that was basically a removal of the arrow in blades of steel morphed into a super crazy hockey game where your experience is almost completely up to you, a wide open season sandbox with league mode and a toolset that you can use to put in your own teams and leagues with mod mode.
addedOf course, there has been plenty going on with my life too. I have 3 jobs, 4 kids, 4 dogs and no time. I long for the days where I can put in some more time with the game making aspect. I have been working on a sequel and the inspiration comes from one of my favorite games NHL 96 for the PC MS-DOS. I have always wanted a vibe that that game created (also fifa 96 psx what a vibe) So I have been working on a new LTL Hockey engine. It's still early and obviously things will need to be recreated with the lessons I learned with this game. But I'm slowly plugging away at it. No promises of course, but I wanted to tell you that I'm not done with game making, I wish I had more time and furthermore, wish I could get into the flow again, That is the biggest challenge of them all. In closing, Thank you to all the people supporting the game and it's idea out there. I really do appreciate it! Oh and if you have not played this game on a CRT yet. Man... do so! Seeya soon! -Jordan
