Over the past few weeks, our team has been hard at work bringing Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing’s Physics 6.0 to Liftoff: Micro Drones. After receiving a lot of positive feedback on the new Physics 6.0 system, we decided it was time to implement it in Liftoff: Micro Drones as well.

As of today Physics 6.0 is available for testing on the Experimental Branch.

This first iteration introduces several improvements aimed at making the flying experience more realistic, responsive, and closer to real-world performance.

What to expect in Physics 6.0

This update focuses on refining some core systems:

  • Improved drag system

  • Improved system for estimating drag coefficients

  • Improved propeller aerodynamics

  • Updated internal motor and battery statistics to better reflect their actual performance

  • Updated top speed display in the drone selection menu
