Welcome to the second LifeGuard Simulator progress report! Today we’ve got plenty of details for you – from the first playable tasks to the advanced first-aid systems that make this simulator unique.
📅 A lifeguard’s first missions
We’ve designed a system of tasks to introduce you to the day-to-day duties on the beach. Being a lifeguard isn’t just about watching the water!
🔹 Setting up sun loungers: We’ve prepared a mission in which you must ensure the comfort of sunbathers by setting up 15 sun loungers in the correct rows. Each sun lounger has its own unfolding animation and unique sound effects.
🔹 A buoying mission: You must ensure the safety of the bathing area. You’ll set off in a boat to position and adjust the buoys in the water. We’ve made sure the buoys bob realistically on the waves.
🔹 Tidying up and logistics: Your first task is to clean the beach using a quad bike with a trailer. You’ll transport the rubbish bags to the skip at the village station, where you can also top up your fuel and restock your supplies.
🚑 Life-saving procedures
When an accident happens, every second counts. Our first-aid system has been fine-tuned for realism:
🔹 Resuscitation: You must check the NPC’s breathing using a special ‘focus circle’. If the casualty isn’t breathing, perform rescue breaths and chest compressions. It’s also important to check whether there is any debris in the NPC’s mouth that might prevent you from helping!
🔹 First Aid Kit and Injuries: We’ve introduced a wound assessment mode. Each injury (scratches, cuts) requires a different response. You’ll use disinfectant spray, plasters and bandages. If you choose the wrong item, the paramedic will point out your mistake.
👥 A vibrant beach and AI
You’re not alone during the rescue operation. Other NPCs react to the situation – as you rush to help, bystanders will point out the direction of the drowning person, and once the rescue begins on the shore, a crowd of onlookers will gather around you, heightening the realism and the sense of urgency.
