Life & Shadow: Celestial Call changes
We’ve just pushed a massive update for the demo, bringing us from v0.2.22 up to v0.2.38. We evaluated all your comments with great excitement and have made numerous improvements based directly on your feedback. This update includes a ton of bug fixes, new mechanics, and highly requested quality-of-life updates.
Here is what’s new in this version:
🌐 Localization & UI
Steam Language Sync: The game now automatically detects and boots up in your Steam language.
- Voice LanguageAdded a "Voice Language" option in the Settings menu with a Default-Save system.
- Tutorials MenuAdded a new "Tutorials" section to the Pause Menu. Fixed layering and UI lock-up issues related to pop-ups.
- Missing TranslationsAdded missing texts and integrated new vocabulary into the localization system.
- Inventory UIAdded notifications for items picked up into the inventory. Imported and updated all item icons. Added "Early Access" descriptions where necessary.
⚙️ Gameplay & Mechanics
Extended Day Duration: The length of a day has been extended by 30% (this was one of the most highly requested features by our players!).
- Overhauled Trash CollectionReplaced static map meshes with interactive paper trash (including ball meshes and pick-up sounds). Earning money by cleaning dirt has also been added!
Lore Items Integrated: Lore items are now fully integrated into the inventory and inspect screens with details, names, and destruction logic.
- New ItemsCRT Card, ECR Door Handle, Gear Box, and Section 2 Permission Card have been added to the inventory mechanics.
- Interactions PolishImproved interaction mechanics for the Combination Wrench, Sponge, and general inventory items.
- QoL AdditionsAdded flashlight battery pick-ups to the map. The plant pruning system now works flawlessly. The Radial Menu experience has been completely revised.
- BalanceIncreased the electrical power gained when activating the basement generator. Disabled the Door Handle interaction until the specific quest is given.
🎧 Audio & Voice
- Dubbing FixesFixed various dubbing errors and added missing voice lines, including monologues for the intro cinematic and lamp switches.
Elias Voice: Revised the Turkish dubbing for Elias' warning sound to include an echo effect.
- New SFX & MusicAdded new music tracks, light sound effects, lore item SFX, and chips packet/trash pick-up sounds.
- Audio BalancingAdjusted sound classes and volumes across the board. Fixed the SC_FootStep volume loop during the ghost scene and resolved audio overlaps in the Credits screen.
Notifications: Established an audio notification system for the Observatory power.
🛠️ Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Cinematic IntegrationThe intro cinematic is now fully integrated with additional sounds. Adjusted colliders for various environment props.
- Panel LogicFixed the logic and connection errors between the CRT and ECR panels.
- Input FixesResolved input conflicts and lock-ups (especially during the chair scene). Mapped Gamepad controls.
- Visual FixesFixed the dark/green screen issue at the end of the demo. Corrected the trigger and execution locations for the ghost sighting scene. Fixed animation errors in the Credits screen.
- Level DesignUpdated cabinet/locker meshes and added minor level design touches.
Optimization: Story mission notifications are now properly tied to a variable. Deleted unused assets to improve performance.
