1. Thank You for 500 Demo Reviews!

As part of Next Fest we released an expanded version of the existing Let's Build a Dungeon Steam demo, which you can still play now to try both Creative Mode and Just Build Mode for the first time. We're also working on more updates to the demo that we hope to share with you soon... but that's a post for another day!

Lets Build a Dungeon Demo

As a self-publishing indie team, taking part in Next Fest was a BIG deal for us and also pretty daunting... We prepared an updated version of the Let's Build a Dungeon demo and did a bunch of testing before the event started, but we were still nervous going into it.

Thankfully everything worked out and we welcomed thousands of new players into the community and got lots of really helpful feedback too. Here are some quick Next Fest stats for anyone else that enjoys digging through the numbers. If you played the demo - thank you, we're really grateful you gave it a try.

The boost from Next Fest also meant that we achieved 500 Steam reviews for the demo! Seeing the overall review score sitting at Very Positive is a huge source of encouragement for us and we're working as hard as we can to push towards the full release later this year. If you left a review, thank you. Every single one helps us a lot. (If you didn't leave a review yet, please consider it 🙏)

In case you missed the details of the demo update, we added a bunch of new content including:

  • Two new playable game modes: Creative Mode and Just Build Mode

  • Expanded Campaign Mode with studio management and RPG playtesting

  • Twitch integration (chat can join as in-game players, vote, and play the newly added Twitch War mode)

  • Creative tools including character creator, conversation editor, and more

  • Replayable demo with multiple quests, classes, and outcomes

  • Access to Creative Mode tools for the first time, including our Character Creator, Quest Tree and Conversation Editor

2. BitSummit Preview in Kyoto

We took part in our second BitSummit with Let's Build a Dungeon last month in Kyoto which was super fun. We had a booth on the 3rd floor in the indie developer section and had a blast sharing a secret new build 👀 with attendees. It was a very early preview of updates that we've been working on for a while that make changes to the start of the game, and we're hoping to share them with you in a demo update soon. (Along with some other fun additions...).

Thank you to everyone that stopped by to play, getting feedback in person is really helpful and we love meeting everyone on the show floor.

3. Pixel Art Showcase

We've been busy drawing thousands of items for Let's Build a Dungeon and thought it was time to share a closer look at what our art team have created so far.

From weapons to held items, ingredients to consumables - we're trying to add as much variety as possible to allow you to design and build any style of RPG.

We've also been creating a series of set pieces and focusing on new animations that will help to bring your world designs to life. From lighting variations to water pools and fountains, we're having a lot of fun seeing everything coming together in our test builds.

Finally we've been adding familiar faces to the game, including one of our office dogs Zapp. In-game he plays a giant version of himself and may or may not be causing chaos in our virtual office... but to be honest there's nothing new there.

4. You Built a Dungeon

Did you know we have an official Discord server for talking about all things Let's Build a Dungeon? Come and join us over there!

Thank you to everyone that has continued to share dungeon and overworld designs with us in the server. We have a channel called #show-us-your-rpg and use it to see what everyone has been building in the demo so far. So we're gonna close out this latest update with some of our favourite recent community builds from Discord.

And that's all for this update!

We hope you've been enjoying Creative Mode and Just Build Mode in the demo and thank you for your ongoing support. We're still working towards our 2026 release date and will have more to share on that soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions and feel free to head over to Discord to chat to us there.

Thanks as always and we'll be back soon with more updates,

Team Springloaded
