addedCows & ChickensYou can now adopt a cow and a few chickens to gather fresh milk and eggs! With these ingredients, you’ll be able to unlock new recipes. Learning a variety of recipes is a core mechanic in Lemon Cake as you’ll be able to manage your menu by picking 3 to 6 active recipes every day. You can get boosts and increase your popularity by picking a well balanced menu. I’ll be working on the daily menu management this month and show more about it in the next devlog!
changedMain InterfaceI’ve spent most of my time this month working on the user interface, such as the main menu, the settings and the playable user interface which displays recipes, orders and notifications. In this screenshot you can see the notifications at the top of the screen help you keep track of everything that is happening in the bakery. For example, you’ll be notified if a pastry is burning, a customer is about to leave or a plant needs to be watered!
addedMain InterfaceI’ve also added clocks over the ovens which lets you know how long a pastry still has left to cook. Once the pastry is baked, the clock starts a second time to show how long you have to get the pastry out of the oven before it starts burning!
addedCustomer ReactionsYou can now see how your customers react when serving their order. Depending if the order is fulfilled quickly, late or if you serve a burned pastry, customers will react differently and give you a tip (or not!). A daily recap will also show how many customers were served, and how many of these orders were perfect; you might even be able to achieve a perfect day!
addedNew PastriesI’ve added 3 new pastries, all with an apple as their main ingredient; you can now prepare an apple tart, a caramel apple and an apple strudel! Pastries are categorized by types, such as bread, cookie or candy. The caramel apple is the first one in the “candy” type. Candies don’t need to be baked in the oven, so compared to other pastries they can be prepared very quickly. However they’ll also sell for a bit less since they’re easier to make. I’m currently planning on having at least 5 types and 30 different pastries for the game release!
addedNew PastriesThank you for reading and I'll see you all next month with a new Lemon Cake devlog! :D
