Ave, Legates!

We want to share some exciting technical updates and new mechanics straight from our development progress.

Today, we are lifting the veil on how you will honor your fallen soldiers, expand your empire’s knowledge, and navigate the shifting tides of the global map.

Please note: all of this is currently a Work in Progress (WIP). The visuals, animations, and UI shown are not final and will be polished.

The Columbarium & Honoring the Fallen

Death is an inevitable part of conquest, but a true leader never forgets those who bled for Rome. After a battle, your legionnaires will now collect and cremate their fallen comrades. Upon returning to camp, their ashes are placed in the Columbarium.

  • A Lasting Record: You can visit the Columbarium at any time to view a historical log of who died and when.

  • Reputation & Glory: Returning the urns grants you vital Reputation Points for honoring military traditions.

  • Morale Boost: Living legionnaires will visit the monument to pay their respects, which replenishes their Inspiration scale and keeps them ready for the next fight.

Ancient Knowledge & The Library of the Legion

To store all your findings—from ancient tablets to the logs of historic figures—we have introduced the Library of the Legion, located safely within the Praetorium tent.

  • Lost Civilizations: While exploring, you may stumble upon incredibly rare and ancient knowledge hidden deep within forgotten caves. Finding these tablets is a massive stroke of luck: once successfully researched, they grant permanent, powerful bonuses to various core aspects of your campaign.

  • Epic Artifacts: Scattered across the lands are journals of legendary historical figures. If you manage to track down and complete a full collection of a hero's writings, it will reveal the hidden location of an Epic Artifact. These artifacts can be equipped on your Centurion to massively boost their stats and leadership capabilities.

Global Map Visuals & Development

Progress Behind the technical mechanics, our daily grind never stops. We are currently actively working on polishing the core combat systems, expanding Gaul settlements, and refining the UI.

Furthermore, we have begun a major visual overhaul of the global map. Right now, we are experimenting with animating army figures and creating clearer visual cues so you can see exactly what any unit is doing on the map at a single glance.

Work on optimization, balancing, and AI continues every day. Thank you for following our journey!
