What’s new:

  1. Map expansion

Steam post imageSteam post imageSteam post imageSteam post imageSteam post image

The map has grown by about 30% with the expansion of Sector B.

Sector B now includes additional rooms and hallways, a gym hall, vent shafts, caves, and more.

  1. Lockers and toilets

Steam post imageSteam post image

A ton of lockers, toilets, and toilet stalls have been added throughout the level.

Locker doors, stall doors, and toilet lids are physics-based and can be opened or closed by anything - objects, enemies, weapons, explosions, or regular player interaction.

Lockers and even toilets can contain items, so make sure to check everything :)

  1. Patron M9 rework

Steam post image

The starting pistol, Patron M9, has finally received a much-needed refresh.

The model and textures were completely remade with more detail, polish, and a new design. Reload and firing animations, as well as sounds, were also fully redone.

  1. Improved gore effects

Blood splatters will now appear on nearby surfaces when enemies are shot.

Bullet hit effects on enemies are more visually pronounced and noticeable.

  1. Locks

Some doors are now equipped with locks. These locks can be locked or unlocked by the player, but only from one side.

  1. Flashlight battery

The flashlight now uses battery power. Battery drains from 100 to 0% in 4 minutes while ON, and recharges fully in 2 minutes while OFF. When battery reaches 75%, the light will start to gradually fade as the battery continues to drain. A flashlight indicator now appears at the bottom of the screen when the flashlight is ON.

  1. Object throw force charging

Throwing force is now chargeable, giving you control over how strong and far you throw objects.

The force indicator appears in the center of the screen and fills from 10 to 100 force in 1 second.

  1. Improved gun recoil and feel

All weapons now use an improved recoil system that adds side-to-side and vertical sway, making weapon movement feel more natural while firing.

You’ll need to try this yourself to feel the difference.

  1. Small object weight

Small objects (when held) now reduce walking speed based on their mass.

For example, carrying an empty soda can will barely affect you, but picking up a heavy metal gas cylinder will slow you down to a crawl.

  1. New Unity engine version

After a lot of thinking (and fear of breaking things), I decided to move the project from 2021 to 2022 Unity.

The newer version offers better performance (more FPS) and important features I needed, such as rendering layers and improved colliders.

Still, even though I’ve tested the game A LOT, there may be some bugs left hiding around - so feel free to send me feedback if you find any.

  1. Improved enemy spawning consistency

Enemies will now spawn as intended.

Spawning zones have been added, meaning enemies will only spawn in the zone the player is currently in, improving performance.

  1. New commands

Two new commands have been added:

  • *usebattery on/off - enables or disables flashlight battery drain

  • *openalldoors - opens all doors in the level, including locked doors and lasers

  1. Many other changes and additions

  • Rearranged some objects

  • Market and upgrade terminals moved to the center room

  • Added chairs and benches

  • Added small rocks

  • TVs, chairs, and gas cylinders are now marked as obstacles, so enemies try to avoid them

  • Laser brightness and color adjustments

  • Improved UI visuals

  • Adjusted items and weapons prices

  • And more…
