I've just released a beta build of the game that includes better Steam Deck and gamepad support. There's really two main parts.

1. A default controller configuration

This relies on Steam Input to work, so if you're using a gamepad, make sure to enable Steam Input. Here's a 4-step guide: https://imgur.com/a/Iky4oek

2. Multi-choice mode for battles

Rather than typing answers, you can press up, down, left, or right to select an answer on a direction pad.
