addedI have now heard from a 5th person that Laurel's Day was able to help them through mental health issues. This makes me so happy and why I decided to sell this game standalone. The game was too powerful to bury inside of a giant JRGP and wouldn't have helped as many as it can now.
changedLaurel's Day was designed to be a tool to make a person understand what another person is going through when they grieve. Although it was made as a mini game for Dimensional Gates, it still mirrors the intensity and power of the Dimensional Gates theme; honesty and raw truth. Because of the powerful message in Laurel's Day and the ability to not just show someone what a person is going through, but to help someone going through it to understand they are not alone. In the future, I hope to start a yearly Mental Health Festival on Steam to help bring awareness to video games that do bring this level of mental health awareness to help the player understand it more. I also am sorry to anyone that feels the game is short. This game is designed for you to feel the ending, and unfortunately, that means making the game any longer will ruin that. One thing I will say is thank you to those that feel that way. You loved my game so much, you wished there was more of it. That is one of the greatest compliments a creator can ever hear. Even if anyone thought the game was too short, that is only because you wanted more. I will bring you all more, just it won't be in this game. Not Allowed to Die Gaming Studios plans to bring you all the same level of emotions and truthful storytelling as you get in Laurel's Day in all of our games.

I have a few people telling me they've played the game even after beating it just to feel it one more time. I actually do the same. I created Laurel's Day however for that feeling. Games are ways to escape reality, but also an amazing tool to immerse the player into someone else's life to allow them to feel what that character is feeling. The medium is so much more powerful than any book or video that could ever be made. You the player live that life and make the choices that you feel in the end. It becomes more than just watching or reading about what happened, but about living it yourself.
